WASHINGTON - A tiny woman and two children were laid to rest on a bed of flowers 5,000 years ago in what is now the barren Sahara Desert.<br />
<br />
The slender arms of the youngsters were still extended to the woman in perpetual embrace when researchers discovered their skeletons in a remarkable cemetery that is providing clues to two civilizations who lived there, a thousand years apart, when the region was moist and green.<br />
<br />
Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago and colleagues were searching for the remains of dinosaurs in the African country of Niger when they came across the startling find, detailed at a news conference Thursday at the National Geographic Society.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Wow never did I think at this stage of my life would I feel like there is never enough time to get stuff done. Between managing our websites, my wife working part time (I get to babysit while she is at work) my full time job, and the kids going back to school...wow. My <a href="http://www.ageofconantoday.com" target="_blank">conan</a> site is averaging about 20 unique hits a day, not bad but better than I expected considering I have done very little advertising and paid for none at this point. My posting has been non-existent since the kids have gone back to school and life has been total chaos. <br />
<br />
    My fourteen year old daughter came back to live with my wife and I after her mother couldn't deal with her any longer. She has some behavioral problems and after the 7th visit by the police it was time for daddy to get her back in line. Well the chaos this caused as she moved back in (sharing a room with her 15 yr old sister) and the impact on her 2yr old brother was pretty extreme to say the least. Of course she has been diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar (as all kids that dont behave are I've come to believe) so now it has become an excuse for her to not behave. Well to say the least she no longer has the fear of dad's wrath and tries to do whatever she wants with no care of the consequences. Just a for instance she has a cell phone provided to her by my parents (aaaarrrrggggh grandparents ftw!) and after losing those privelages for 8 days of the month still managed to talk and text over 13,000 minutes. Not to mention sending pictures of herself nude to some14 yr old boy.<br />
<br />
Well that was the final straw and after much soul searching and exploring the few options available we decided to put her in a group home. Talk about heart wrenching! The utter feeling of knowing your child must feel like they have been abandoned just tears you apart. This home she is in is sponsored by Church of Christ and is more like a home setting than a jail like facility. She currently is with 4 other girls about the same age with a max of 8 spots total. They attend school everyday and have a tutor 5 days a week to help with school work. They attend church every Sunday. She does get to come home on friday nights and all day saturday so its not as if we wont get to see her but it still hurts to know she isn't home. The lady who runs the home was shocked that both sets of parents showed up as well as the step-parents and even remarked that in 18 yrs she had never seen that much love and support for a child. Now we just have to hope it makes a difference in her life before she becomes an adult and gets in serious trouble.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>So three days into running our websites my wife greets me with the question &quot;How much money have we made?&quot; My reply is of course &quot;not much&quot;. &quot;well why not?&quot; I then begain to tell her this isn't something you start and instantly begin rolling in the cash, it is a business and as such it takes alot of work to get it running and then there still are no guarantees it will make money. My cloud at least in her eyes seems to be breaking apart. Just to give a little background for anyone contemplating starting their own website to make money, here is what you are looking at. First you must either buy a ready made site (cheap on ebay in some cases) or purchase a domain name (usually around $10 per year) and build your own site. Building your own site can be daunting unless you have web design experience and especially html exp. Then you have to add on all your advertisers (these are free to get most popular ones are ebay, adsense from google, amazon, clickbank) finding ads that are relevant to your site. word of caution when buying a ready made site I have found that the sellers tho helpful in getting you set up range from very trustworthy and helpful to not so much. One seller I had to keep getting on to about ad codes being wrong. Its very easy for them to say oops I forgot to change that one in which case any money you may be making on that ad is going to them instead of you. So be careful and learn as fast as you can. My advice is get your own hosting package and password protect it once site is set up. On the up side once you are set up the only costs you incur are your yearly domain registrations and any advertising costs if you choose to pay for advertising. And it was nice to be able to tell the wife we have made almost $30 less than a week into this. At least if we continue at this rate we will have paid 2 years of hosting off in less than a month :)</div>

You don't make any money, you don't free up any time for family, you are so involved you dont even see what is happening under your nose and it costs money every month, not to mention the initial cost of buying the game and frequent updates to computer to be able to play the latest and greatest. So when presented with an opportunity to own a website which potentially can make some money I jumped at it. Now all the naysayers will say you can't make money with a website, its a waste of time. To them I say maybe so, but it's my fantasy so either join in or get off my cloud.</div>

In a nutshell credit card rates spiralled to hell on us. The mortgage moved to 11.125%. OCP went down the tubes, with the new owners giving me the shaft basically. :shots:<br />

Slowly but surely we’ve been pulling our butts from the fire. And not without some help! I managed to get hired for as a manager at a retail store back in March, at the same time my best friend also hired me on as a computer tech. With that help we got the credit card disaster in order. Slowly but surely we’ll be “retiring” those cards to the drawer in very short order. (As advised, we won’t cancel them as it hurts your credit score). Most importantly on August 1st, we FINALLY closed on a mortgage with M&amp;T bank. Yeah!! It drop our mortgage to 6.62%. I can’t even describe the relief, we’re just really hung up on our house! <img src="http://www.thekanefamilyblog.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif" border="0" alt="" /> <br />

Sean is still on the road with Slipknot. Heather &amp; Russ will get to see him and the show on August 16th in Hartford. We’ll be watching Ethan. I think we got the better deal! Russ &amp; Heather’s move to the condo got done last week. How much nicer for them! Heather also heard from the Catholic school in the Bronx, so it’s back to work for her in Sept. I know it’s bittersweet. While the paycheck is uber important to them and improving thier lifestyle, leaving Ethan is tough. But at least he’ll be with Gammie a few days a week. <br />
Spoke with Rob and gave him all his signin info. Hopefully we’ll see some posts from him soon.<br />
The house renovations are coming along. we’re into the replace the moulding stage. It’s looking just great. The wallpaper for the behind the kitchen counter should be in this week. Then we can pick out the paper for the other walls and finish that room up. House is looking great and fresh, which makes Trish happy. And we all know if Trish is happy, I’m happy! :beer1:</div>

Christopher Lee says while he wants to return to Middle Earth, but he doesn’t want to travel all the way to New Zealand to do it. He almost sounds tired talking about the long trip from his home in London.<br />
<br />
He would like to get the part of the voice of Smaug though. He talks about this and other things Middle Earth in this very enlightening video. Lee is one of the most knowledgable men alive on the subject of Middle Earth and was the only person involved in The Lord Of The Rings who actually new JRR Tolkien.<br />
