ive posted a few threads on the forums but what i really want to kno is... is it worth my time leveling my char up.. all the hours.. i mean is it still as busy as it was? any one have any idea on how many people actually play on the europa server? what im really worried about is what if i get a good char and theres never any one around?

I've worked up one char on that shard. I have never found a quiet time yet. People will interact most of the time anyways.

Maybe not thousands all at the same time but its definitely one of the more populated servers. Best bet is to find a good guild like ClanUK and meet other players through that..I was kind of a lonely solo player before but now theres always someone for me to hunt with

UO is and always be THE best game for its age and unique style.

Wether it is 'worth it' depends entirely on your play style.

I played UO avidly for over 7 yrs,and it was only in the last 18 mths of this time,that for me it lost what I had always enjoyed the most.

Many things caused this :-

• dwindling player base as more folk left to try out newer shinier mmorg's.

• a 'new' kind of game emerging as artie based players became more saturated and farmed 24/7 to get the best items.

• The trend to be and have the very best of everything remains,and has drastically changed the concept of the game imo.

• the loss of Seer,EM's and the in game GM support.

Richard Garrett started UO as a roleplaying game based around the lore of Lord British and his command.

All of that has now gone apart from the buildings and hence the game is now as it is.

Very much changed but still very enjoyable for the style of players around today.

As far as I know, there has never been an official statistic concerning how many people play UO, nor how many play per server.

Your correct, they have never released that info.

Personal opinion here, I came back in July after originally quitting in 01 played from 97, sold my original account as well, so had to restart from scratch, since being back I have had more fun than I have had in ages, mainly because the depth how the game has changed and there is still pvp of sorts which was always my thing, working up two characters for pvp and two crafters and really enjoying myself this time round I won't be getting rid of my account though, since selling that I have kept every other MMG account and constantly regretted it.
