![]() | Looking to buy real-estate on LS Hello all! I am new to LS, returning to UO after around 10 years. I started up my new char here on LS, and want to get a home as soon as possible. I do have access to a large amount of gold, but I would like to know how much fairly large houses go for these days on LS... Are there any locations open, or do I pretty much have to try to purchase a person's house that is already placed? Since it has been so long since I played UO, many things are different. I appreciate anyone being able to explain this stuff to me. Oh, also: I am a bit confused as to what some of these new places are. When I played this game last, you ran around and adventured in Britannia. Now there are these "facets" called Trammel, Felucca, and Malas or something. I know that Tram and Fel are moons, but I don't understand where these places are in relation to Britannia. You can BE on the moons now??? Are these newer places sort of like other dimensions in space/time? Do they have the same towns as Britannia or something, or are they very different places physically? This whole thing has really gotten me confused in the last week or so. If anyone has a very simple way of explaining this phenomenon to me, please do help. I'm very confused. The only thing I know is that there were expansions in the game over the years, and some of these expansions introduced new lands. I have no idea what these lands are, where they are, or why they even exist. When looking for a house, I am primarily looking to buy one on the land that I am familiar with, not some new goofy dimension that is floating in the etherial void. Thanks a ton to anyone who takes the time to explain! |

![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS A lot of this is new to me too so I am not 100% sure what I tell you is right. It sounds like what you were used to would now be called Felucca. It is open PVP anywhere except in the cities basically. Trammel is mapped the same as Fel but has no PVP. The other lands I have no clue about. I hope I am right about those two though. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS No problem Nikko When you hit a moongate now, you can choose where you journey too. You choose a facet to visit which will pull up all cities/places you can journey to on that facet. Unlike old school UO, where you needed to know the waxing and waning of Britannia's two moons (which are named Trammel and Felucca) No you do not actually go to the moons of Britannia. When UO:R (Ultima Online: Renessiance) was released a nearly exact copy of the original lands was made. The only difference was occlo/haven islands. Once the lands were split the original land was renamed Felucca, The nearly exact copy was called Trammel - haven island replaced occlo island on the copy. In the facet of Felucca - it is old school UO, you can attack and be attacked on site anywhere in game except in town limits. (Non-Con PVP) In the facet of Trammel - it is the near copy of UO. The only way another player can attack you in this facet is if you are in a guild (a guildmate may attack you) or if your guild is involved in a guild war with one or more guilds. In the facet of Malas - Trammel rules apply, added the lost continent of Malas with the Age of Shadows expansion In the facet of Ilshenar - Trammel rules apply, added the roughly donut shaped land with the Third Dawn expansion and the donut was filled in with the Lord Blackthorn's Revenge expansion In the facet of Tokuno - Trammel rules apply, you can travel to the 3 large islands of Tokuno and the one major city (Zento). There are also Felucca and Trammel copies of the Lost Lands add in the Second Age expansion. In the Felucca version of the Lost Lands you will find the champion spawns which drop power and stat scrolls. In the Trammel version of the Lost Lands you can do the champion spawns also but they do not drop power and stat scrolls There are also Felucca and Trammel copies of the elven city of Heartwood which was added with Mondain's Legacy expansion. Peerless boss were also added with this expansion and are in both Felucca and Trammel. ![]() Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment Last edited by Warsong of LS; 30th June 2008 at 07:00 AM.. |

![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS VERY VERY informational. I think I finally understand all the "facet" stuff now. I was so confused about this before. Thank you, Warsong. I simply go to Felucca when I want to battle some real players and duel people, and I stay in Trammel when I want to role play and fight only NPC monsters. Thanks man. Is it better to have a house in one vs. the other, or is it really a personal preference thing? |

Anyway in response to your question. Having a house in Felucca or Trammel is up to you. But if you plan to ever have any of your character go red (become a murderer) that character can not enter Trammel so if you had a house there, that character would be forced to live out of their bank box. ![]() Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment Last edited by Warsong of LS; 1st July 2008 at 07:05 AM.. | |

Wander the land and find a nice spot for yourself. There are many places. For help, hang around Haven bank. Many helpful people there will offer you guidance and free is usually laying on the ground. Or if you are looking to hunt, this is also a great place to meet people or pickup a hunting party. |

![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS Excellent advice from the both of you! Thanks again, gentlemen. I'll search for my own spot on the land to place my home. One more thing I've been wondering... If I run around on Fel and try to find a spot to place my home, I can be murdered, right? Is it likely? I mean, are there murderers out there in Fel on LS shard that would just kill a guy for pretty much no reason? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS Yes, if you are in felucca, at anytime outside city limits, you can be attacked by anyone. Yes there are people that will attacked you for no reason. How do I know? Just today after work, I logged in with my gm hiding/lumberjack, he is a character I still not sure what to do with. Anyway I always take him out lumberjacking, with a personal blessed axe and blessed sandals riding an ethie ostard. thats all. Just walking around the forests near trinsic, I got pk'd. No problem, they did not get anything or any insurance. The only thing they got was a murder count. Then they had the nerve to come into town and complain because I gave them a murder count. Go figure, so I tell them too bad that is the rules of the game. I go to leave town, I get followed out and killed again, again I give them a murder count. Then they start running off at the mouth at my ghost (guess they had spirit speak) again... So yes there are people on LS that will kill you for no reason! If you are really going to look around felucca for a housing spot, just go naked and walk around with just the housing tool on you and maybe a mark scroll and blank rune to mark you new house location. ![]() Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment Last edited by Warsong of LS; 2nd July 2008 at 07:09 AM.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS It can happen. You also can go days in Felucca, without seeing people at all. If you are newly returning ... you can also place houses in the MALAS, and TOKUNO facets. Not so many spots in tokuno. But MALAS is mostly a housing area IMO. I'd wander Trammel, you may get lucky. |

![]() | Re: Looking to buy real-estate on LS I definitely want it to be in Britannia, not some crazy floating rock in space. Malas looks like it is floating around in space for some stupid reason, and Tokuno I have yet to see. I'll shoot for either Fel or Tram since they actually look like Britannia. I don't really care which I guess, but if I try for Fel, I'll run naked or with some blessed stuff on for sure. Thanks for that advice. If I die with my insured stuff on it'll cost me like 4,000 gp or something. Oh... I have to wait until my character is 15 days old or something to place a home, right? |
