I am so lost

I just started playing. I have to admit that 14 day free pass has lured me away for UO. But now i'm finding somethings that are just stumpping me. I have read the 100 page manual it really didn't help.
1. how to do talk to other people in game?
2. where are those stupid shrew dens and how do i fill them in.

Hi Mora, i haven't played LOTRO in a while, but i believe to chat you have to use commands... like
/say (whatever you want to say)
/tell (persons name)(your message)

And the shrew burrows will highlight for you when you have the quest. Just click on them to destroy them,

my thanks to both of you. I'm afraid i'm beginning to really like the game. My UO buddies are going to kill me. Now off to kill those shrews

I'm playing on Windfola and having a blast. I found and took out the shrews and now am working on wolves
