Well, I appreciate the offer, but I'm on Catskills. I'm working on a inscription mage - haven't figured out the entire template just yet, but I know I'm at:

Magery 46.8+24=71ish
Eval - 73.2
Inscription - 72.1
Meditation - 99.8
Resisting Spells - 45ish
Wrestling - 42.2

That's 6 skills I think I'll try to GM... Resist - not sure if I'll ever get there on that one. Will probably work on wrestling for special move?

you can spam resistible spells on yourself to gain resist quickly. i recommend casting clumsy, feeblemind, and weakness on yourself. they cost the least amount of mana and cast the quickest. it's much easier to gm it than it was back in the day :S

wrestling is a solid choice for your 7th skill. it'd give you special attacks and melee evasion while using scrappers and slayer spellbooks.

Thanks for all the input! Counting wrestling, I still have room for another skill unless I take one or more above 100. I do have an older account, so I think I also have an extra 20 to play with?

For Resist training, use the Specteral Spellbinders in Haven. Just attack a bunch of them and let them follow you around casting. Your Magic Resist will gain *very* quickly.

If a Young comes along, I will let all the Spellbinders go and come back later to train, so that they can get some fighting experience in.

The changes you are unfamiliar with were introduced during the Age of Shadows expansion. We hit the 5 year anniversary a couple months ago. You were gone a bit longer than 2 years.

Age of Shadows is the expansion you need to know the most since it revamped almost everything about UO. You can find out more about it on UOGuide:

For training resist, I got about 3 guildmates to all cast on me. I went from 40-ish to GM in less than an hour. Each one cast a different spell too... clumsy, weaken, and curse if I remember right.

I'm with Adri, getting some guildies to cast on you is the fastest way I've found. I've done legendary 3 times in the last couple months, and each time I've gotten more guildies to help and it's gone faster. Most recently, 6 guildmates took me from 0 to legendary in just under two hours. I pay them back by taking the time to help them do it as well. We all benefit.

Let them follow you and get on a boat, or theres a room in the gaining area which has a ruined window, go inside room and they'll cast on you from the outside...

Has it been that long? Dang! I did play for a brief period after the customizable houses were introduced - maybe for a week or two.

UPDATE:

GM'd magery in a total of 3 days - probably 4 hours a day maybe? Maybe a little more on one day. No more than 16 hours.

Now I need to add to the template. I've been having fun on fire island killind daemons, drakes, and the occassional dragon with EVs. Now I'm going to try and find a good asbestos suit!
