| Re: Time to come home?.... Eh up, do you remember me mate? Rorschach from PVP, DJs, 6i6 and V-G here... I just started to play again last week with the faction changes exciting me (lift of caps and the potential for a reason to join factions in the next event, although were not sure what it is yet)...
My thoughts: It is obviously a very different game now and is 100% item based. From what i have seen if you get all the items and all the 120 power scrolls you need, the game effectively becomes (from a mage PVP perspective) a very fast paced 5x pure mage sort of thing, although spell timings with all the modifiers are *nothing* like what you will remember, it really threw me... The issue i am having is the time investment required to actually become competitive again - you're going to need at least magery/med/eval/ 115 power scrolls and a suit (this is what a collection of armour with mods on is now called) giving you 100% lower regaent cost, a good chunk of lower mana cost, and all 70 (perhaps 60ish) elemental resists (resist works very differently now too). With the 115 power scrolls its going to be like running a 7x 90 mage in combat, but it would be doable. Is the time investment to do this any different to what it used to take to make a 7x mage for PVP, probably not. Does the game have better PVP than most of the other MMO games out there, i would say so (at least until Age of Conan). |
