Well, when Stratics comes back up... I'll send over a link. Basically the idea works very much like SearchUo.com - except it would cover the entire shard

A user is able pull up a search menu, and enter a text string like "blessed sandals". The interface will search through all the vendors attempting to match those words in its item description. It then returns the results in a list containing:

A picture
The shop name
The vendor name
The facet
Description
Price

The user is then able to sort by price / facet, etc. Next, clicking on the line item will take you to a detail page with exact coords of the shop, a map, and a list of other items on the vendor.

What it would NOT do:

Allow the user to recall directly to the shop
Allow the user to purchase items through the menu from where they are

This feature is meant to make it easy to find the items you want, but is NOT intended to destroy vendor houses by enabling someone to "shop from home"

This system would introduce real competition to Luna's prices, without destroying Luna.

Basically, people could still go to Luna knowing that everything they might want is all in one location... but if they're willing to travel to the outskirts of Felucca for the best price, then those outlying vendors would get traffic that they were missing before.

I like searchuo better because you can add your vender. Which is great because I don;t have a vender spot in Luna.

Vendor search is cool but sucks for those of us trying to make a UO living easy to undercut each other n such. heh What I would like UO to place in-game is a ring/bracelet/armor BOD book system kinda thingy I can search or sort properties.
