When I read these things, I tend to think of the Ori, from Stargate...
They were pretty big on quoting scripture.
Anyway, if you take context from their actions; not-entirely-overwhelming numbers attacking a few cities...
I think it is some kind of self-confident rhetoric... The current invasion is not everything that they have to offer, in effect.
