I recently revived my old account and started playing UO again. I was trying to GM some craft skills (which I'd never done before). Got tailoring up to 70 and decided I'd had enough, so I logged in as my GM fisherman, Woody, and went fishing. Here are the results, in 3 hours:

8 MIBs
4 White Pearl
3 Special Fishing Nets (all the light green)
242 Horned Leather
176 Sea Serpent Scales
2 Bottles of Liquor (my favorite)

I thought this might be a little high rate of return, but what I was doing starting out was fishing until I pulled up a serpent (MIB or not). Kill the serpent, move forward 8 spaces. Seemed like forever between serpents, so I just typed in "Forward" and counted the movements (22) north or right of my position then stopped and started over. If I fished from the front of the boat and didn't get anything special, I moved to the back for that location. If nothing, "forward" for a 22 count (you can see the sea changing as you move forward... count 22 spaces).

Anyways, I thought this was a pretty good haul for a 3 hour tour!

BTW, what are MIBs selling for? Is there much demand, or is it better to fish them up and sell what you find?

open up the bottles, ancient sos's sell pretty well!

most people open the mibs looking for the white sos, it new to you (though I have never fished one up), I have seen white mibs go for 95k and up.

then they sell off the rest, I have seen them price anywhere from 1k up to 5k each. though this price should vary from shard to shard.

With regards to the "special fishing nets" I have noticed an increase in pricing since the introduction of the Spring Cleaning turn-ins. With that in mind, you might be able to get more money for them and any other fishing related turn-in for that matter - as long as the Spring Cleaning event lasts at least.

Another thought, if you are doing the Spring clean up, MIB are a turn in. If you go ahead and fish up the MIB those items can also be turned in as well as the chest. My fisherman fished up 10 items + chest, killed a serp with another bottle all in all was a good day. hmmm but just a thought.

Good point Phoenix. The MiB's by themselves are worth 250 pts but the pre-chest loot that you fish up before the chest pops up... those are all worth 250 pts each! I've been unlucky a few times where I get the chest on the first cast but the more "junk" you pull up prior to the chest... the more spring cleaning points. Anything labeled with a "Recovered from Shipwreck" tag can be turned in (even the chest).

My advice, if you have the time, is to open the MiB's and go fish up the chests. Have fun
