Is SearchUO dead?

I see this site not being updated in the last few days. Thought it was weird so shot a ICQ to someone I have dealt with there. He said he was fired. So...is this the end? I loved the site personally. UO/EA should have done it long ago.

I suspect they are dead until a certain illegal program is repaired to work with the new publish.

Knowing how both get their info I refused to use or support either site, but that's just my personal choice.

If you notice, every time there is a publish in UO, there is a problem with the search sites until a certain illegal program is also patched. It is my belief that both sites depend on that program. That, or there is a real interesting coincidence lol.

I would refuse too except I sort of have a feeling anything sold in Luna is obtained through some sort of a script already :/. The problem I have is finding any vendors outside of Luna that actually sell things I want. I know my outlook isn't the purest, but I figure, if I have to buy a barbed kit, and everyone who sells them scripts, I might as well find the cheapest. Shrugs. I wish UO would implement a legit way of helping people find vendors, by using meta tags or something.

There's an idea on stratics that you can vote on... which proposes that UO develop a vendor search function within the client. Once stratics is back up, I suggest voting on it...

I would REALLY love to not have to use 3rd party websites to do my shopping....

there has to be a way for EA to set it up where we can shop the easy way like on "Star Wars Galaxies" and I do use Finduo.com 1st and than SearchOU.com 2nd and enjoy the ease of finding what I need fast!!!!

It would indeed be better if there was an ingame function to handle this. But that's how these things get added. Someone comes up with an idea and then it gets implemented. Let's hope the "Powers that be" notice the demand.

Hopefully, these powers can expand the search capability beyond Luna, since neither 3rd Party site seems able to meet that demand.
