So I've recently gotten back into UO and all of my old characters had been wiped at some point in the last four years. It's been fun starting from scratch, although, gold is a little harder to come by. I really dig the pack drop items that are obtainable on PvM hunts and I've been training a Thief/Mage because I never played one before.

Here are the stats I plan on training or at least some kind of relative combination of stats on this list, give or take a few points as I keep working on the skill set:

Magery 110
Eval 110
Med 110
Hiding 100
Snooping 90 + burglar's bandana
Stealing 90 + burglar's bandana/shadow dancer leggings
Stealth 90 + burglar's bandana/shadow dancer leggings

My real magery is around 80 (102 w/jewelry), eval at 85, and Med at 102. I've mostly been wandering around Ilsh looking for paragons to mess with. I've tried to do some work in Doom but I mostly get wrecked if I leave the first room and I haven't gotten a chance to train stealing so that fun is outta the question for now.

I play solo on Atlantic and I do PvM. Where does everyone recommend I hunt with this character? Like I said, I love the chance of getting random pack drops or paragon chests, even though a lot of the stuff isn't all that desireable. Gold is nice since this character is broke, but mostly I'm looking for some good recommendations for interesting places to fight or quests to take that you think this character can handle. Any recommendations are appreciated!

But, welcome to UOForums

most of the "fun" stuff isnt soloable anymore...
id recommend training in the virtue dungeons(shame, deciet, despise, etc)
they have a chance at 10th anniversary drops which are kinda neat... and its a good place to train up most of your stuff... although theres nothing to steal in those places anymore that i know of

From memory, stealing can be used in both doom and the Tokuno lands, to "steal" the rare items that spawn.
Least you could then put the stealing skill to use, while pvm'ing.

I see... I missed the 10th Anniversary while my account was inactive and even now after I've reactivated and have been paying and playing for nearly a month, my profile still says "can not determine account age" but that's a different story... gah.

I haven't really seen any of the 10th anniversary gifts in game yet. Are any ones in particular more desirable that the others? I haven't built a good fighter yet so the armor set won't immediately benefit me and my thief/mage.

If I get a drop while in the anti-virtue dungeon, which item is cause for extra excitement? If any, haha.

there are ankhs that drop that are pretty cool... i think they give bonus to stats for a set amount of time, i think you can get virtue armor stuff too.... the one that i like the most is the 10th anniversary statue... it gives you a bonus to you luck for a set amount of time(not sure how long) depending on your account age...

If you fight in any of the original dungeons, once you earn enough points, by killing monsters in these dungeons, you get a drop into your backpack. There are 15 items available for the 10th anniversary. Though the drop rate ha been turned down, it takes awhile

Katrina's Crook - mace weapon
Jana's Staff - mace weapon
Dragon's End - sword , dragon slayer property
Sentinel's Guard - shield with resists
Lord Blackthorn's Exemplar - shield with resists
Ankh Pendant - if you put it on and say the words at the shrines you can get a bonus to your stats for about an hour can only use it once per day, still sells well.
UO Logo Scuplture - boosts luck for about an hour, still sells well.
Map of Britannia - map, deco only
Then there are 7 pieces of virtue armor:
Helm of Spirituality
Gorget of Honesty
Breastplate of Justice
Arms of Compassion
Gauntlets of Valor
Legs of Honor
Solaretes (boots) of Sacrifice

to gain the complete bonuses from the virtue armor you also need the Cloak of Humility which you can only get through a quest in trinsic. And you can only do this quest once with each character on your account.
