Lifetime membership offer

For the 1st anniversary Lotro is offering the $199 lifetime membership again. I haven't played since beta and they are trying to lure me in...should I try again?

Re: Lifetime membership offer

I opted for it the first time around. With a year under the belt, great free additions and a new expansion coming out, I think LOTRO has some staying power. -\
Is the $199 worth it. Well the break even point would be amount 19 months if you opted for the 9.99 a month thing. Do I see LOTRO around another 2 years. Yeah. Middle Earth is a big place and they haven't gotten to Mordor yet! I think it will last.

Just my thoughts on it.

Re: Lifetime membership offer

I don't no.. I thought the game lacked a little depth of character. It's a very "safe" game to play; nothing can go wrong, you will never lose anything, everyone can get everything.

I reckon after a few years everyone will have everything and the novelty will soon wear off :/

I left because I felt there was nothing to accomplish in the game beyond trying to level, trying to get a special item and trying to conquer a particular quest.

At heart I am very competitive though, but the monster play seemed a little shallow and confined.

Hate to be a downer on everyone. It is a beautiful game!! Just wish it was grittier.

Re: Lifetime membership offer

Id say yes.

The monsterplay/pvp will hopefully be expanded to give pvpers more options. Maybe they will introduce kinship wars to increase rp opportunitites for conflict between the freeps of Middle Earth.

With content upgrades etc for this amount of money its a snip tbh.

And also once you paid for this they are honour bound to at least offer you something in exchange if they close down LOTRO.

Also once youve paid the money just think of all those monthly fees you WONT be paying.

How long is the offer valid for?

If its open for say 30 days then try and get a free download and trial account and check it out for your self.

Re: Lifetime membership offer

problem is, I saw that lifetime offer, and me & Garod are tempted by it,however we noticed that it was only being offered via turbine (for turbine accounts). We just had to change our payment plans recently (yesterday - something about worldpay no longer working and therefore having to switch) and we couldn't find the lifetime offer thru codemasters accounts.

seems almost like the lifetime membership is only for the US accounts and not any EU accounts??? Or will codemasters also eventually offer it? anyone manage to get one?? or did we just not look in the right spot?

I actually sent an email to Codemasters, and told them how dissapointed I was as a Reporter on UOForums, that there were no forums for Snowbourn and EU players etc.

They have said that Codemasters are working on and very close to providing for their EU player base.

Sooooooooooo ...Id say ,yes, we will have all the same things available to us as the US players soon.

Re: Lifetime membership offer

i would have saved a lot of cash over 10 years if UO had a lifetime plan.

I thought there were official forums for Snowbourn?

They are here : Codemasters forum - [EN] Snowbourn

And the log in screen now offers the lifetime membership with 10% off? Is that still US only?

I thought this was EU wide as well now? [Could be wrong though!]

Yup, Snowbourn is there. There is (thanks to Gnomy) a link for it in the EU submenu of the LOTROXbar (LOTRO's whole EU site and forum is in there). ;)

I have to admit, I don't play and I'm even tempted, a little.
