So I randomly found a plot of land and the end of the forked rivers southwest of brit on trammel and placed an 8x8. It's only big enough for the 8x8 but it's so close to the moongate.

On Atlantic.... is housing still tough to find? I just got back into the game and I'm trying to figure out if it'll sell for much. I need to get some gold to get my characters goin, haha

On Atlantic, small housing isn't too hard to find but large housing can be. I placed 3 smalls in a week when I moved back a month or so ago, but couldn't find any large plots. You might find a buyer for a moongate plot - someone who wants to place vendors maybe.
