I decided to make my first KR character , a nice archer. Everything went well and got into the game and met Gwen.
My char constantly runs in place , very similar to the old 3D client.
I did the movement stuff and picked up some items from the crate ect.
I got to the part where you open your map , my game crashed 3 times.
Once I couldnt get back in at all due to an immediate crash.

Is this happening to others?

Yep, it happens. A lot.

Usually, I crash in spawn areas, high monster concentrations or places where many spells are being cast at once (moonglow rift comes to mind). Generally, any one of these crashes (and I get several in my 1 or 2 hours/day playing) ends up in OOoOooOoooo.

Which is frustrating. Maybe I should join that user group for KR...

Oh - and my system smokes the one you described. Stupid, buggy client.

Well my system isn't as hot as the ones you got, but it's pretty decent nonetheless. Though I should mention that it runs nearly as smooth on my 6 year old machine (pentium IV 1,8GHz, 512Mb RAM, 128Mb graphic), so I wonder how old some peoples systems are if they can't run it at all...

I do have some crashes, but 2D crashes on me, especially when doing PvP which also tends to turn the world grey...

Such frequent crashes as mrbill describes though... Hadn't had these for over half a year now. And as I don't have any solutions for you, I just realized that this was a pretty superflous post...

Ill try updating my video drivers again and maybe shutting off sound to see what happens.

You may also want to try the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer. This utility helps correct some video and timing issues while gaming. It is the third paragraph down the page.

In addition to also checking your video drivers, you may want to also check Windows Update. There have been several hotfixes and patches that affect gaming and video performance, in addition to XP Service Pack 3 and Vista Service Pack 1 (depending on which OS you use).

There are many compatibility issues between KR and ATI.

My system is FAR (under) from the specs you mentionned and I can play KR. Not really smooth, but on a system like yours it should fly... well, if your internet connection is fast of course...

Though, I crash way more in KR than 2D. My only crashes in 2D come from the trading gump. So I'm ok the rest of the time even in high-spawn/pvp.

In KR, crashes happens randomly, but not as frequently as it used to be when I started testing it.

Which ATI card are you running?

This is the part i dont get from EAM .. how they succeeded in not testing ATI systems before even releasing to beta.. or they should have stopped it in beta and fixed the ATI problems.. I've heard more with ATI systems that got problems

hmm I will see if my macbook pro gives me issues (bootcamp xp).
Didnt try KR yet on it.

If it doesnt work on the macbook pro.. then ill gladly take it hehe

Works just fine here with ATI X1700 256mb DDR3

Of course crashes happen from time to time as well, but they are not ATI related.
