Need advice...

Okay, so here is my dilemma. I want my cake, and I want to eat it too. I play only PvM right now, and my template is as follows:

Eval Int: 101.0
Magery: 110.0
Meditation: 115.0
Necromancy: 105.0
Resist Spells: 100.0
Spellweaving: 97.3
Spirit Speak: 110.1

I am just in my second year, so my skill cap is 705, and obviously these skill levels are with item bonuses.

My suit has these properties:

63/60/67/70/65
100% LRC
40% LMC
MR 6
SDI 37 with Scrappers

Here is my dilemma... I SUCK. I get owned in spawn areas (could just be user idiocy). What should I do with this character? I was wondering if I needed to drop something and pick up wrestling (since my suit relies on the Scrapper's for casting abilities and the 25% sdi). I would like to use swords of prosperity, and avoid the need for wrestling, but money IS an issue, so reworking the suit is a bit too pricey atm.

I am not against transferring one of the spell skills to another character and starting from scratch on him (but building his suit may take a while... lol)

HELP! lol...

Re: Need advice...

you suck how? in pvp or just pvm or both?

you need to learn to use the strengths your spells. I run a similar necro/mage except I do not have spellweaving, I have inscription instead. I rarely die ( I am not talking about this current event, have not taken him to the event yet)

let your spells fight for you, for example precast energy vortex, run up cast one, then immidately cast invisible then the creature/s you attack focus on the ev (if you fizzle) so what you are hidden, run back precast run up hide again. once you have whatever fighting your ev or evs then start hitting it with spells, many people go for the flashy flamestrike, yes it looks nice, me? I hit with a corpse skin, the a strangle, then fireballs til it falls over, should not take this many spells since I have an ev or 2 on it, but you get the idea.

then use you other strength, whatever you just killed, animate dead, I do not care if it just raises a skeleton, you can have 3 animates, plus 2 evs out (I ride an ethereal mount for the quick get away) your own personal army, hell, if the creature is high enough fame, you raise liches and they will attack on there own.

spirit speak is your friend too, once you start to pile up the bodies, stay near fresh kills and heal up. move slowly, we necros are not here to stand toe to toe with our foes. We exist for the dark arts, let nothing stand in your way! Let others call me coward, when I see their spirits flying around me, begging me to bind their souls once more to the material plane, I laugh (Muahahahhahahahahahahah) in their faces and spit on their corpses, using their strength to recover my own.

Seriously though I would be more than happy to assist you journey in the dark arts. Since we are on the same shard. It might be after the event though, trying to harvest enough souls to placate the dark gods.

Re: Need advice...

Hmmm, I think you need to focus on what you want to be, and be it.

I used to think I sucked, but now, as a pure mage, and refusing to go another way and spread out my skills, I am holding my own and having fun.

I am at this

118 Magery
120 Eval
120 Med
120 Resist
120 Wrestling
100 Insription
And the rest in a little focus..just for kicks and no excuse.

I don't buy the stuff that mages can't game anymore. It's macros, puter power, and your game skill you learn from following others and watching them, and I watch good.

Its been awhile since I died at a champ spawn.

Find a guild that you you can serve and that serves you. Don't guild hop, skip and jump like you're going stag-Martin at the middle school spring dance. Get your bones and bonnie while you work and watch and you will find, "hey, I didn't die tonight."

Then, you know you're coming along just right.

*files nails*

Re: Need advice...

Med works in values of 10, doesn't it? If so, I'd drop it to 110, then add those extra points to eval. With SS, 110 med, and 6 MR you should have no problems with running out of mana. And yes, invis is your friend.
