Does luck affect fishing rewards?
Greater chance for SOS, nets and TMaps on serpents perhaps?
Greater chance of Ancient SOS maybe?
Better chests fished up?
Better loot in chests?
More serpents fished up?
Anyone know?
(I'm trying it out this morning.... My guess is that luck would NOT affect what you got IN the chests except perhaps what level you got, though so far it does not even seem to be affecting that).

AFAIK, it doesn't affect anything in fishing.

I run a 1200+ luck suit on my gm fisherman. Why? I have no, idea. I think because I wanted to build a high luck suit and I have no tamer. And even with the crappy resists, he can survive deep sea serpents. With the 10th anniversary statute my luck is way too high.

How do I know for sure luck has no effect, because I usually fish about 3 hours a week or until I fish up around 25 sos bottles. Since EAMythic introduced ancient sos bottles my gm fisherman has fished up ZERO, zip, zilch, nada, not a dang one. So I know my fisherman is cursed by the rng gods.

Incidentally, you are all correct: luck as no direct impact on fishing. Indirectly, it of course has an impact on the intensity of loot when killing sea critters.

Yeah, all my fishing with my Luck suit just made it scarier to fight elementals. So back to the LRC/High Resist suit...

And I know they say Ancient SOS's are 1 in 40 but it sure doesn't seem like it...

Dunno if it still works or not but if when you fish up a serp just start using the 8x8 method like we used to for gains and it seems to work awesome for fishing up the serps. I used to get about 30 bottles an hour that way.

Can you elaborate? Do you fish out the 8x8, or fish one until oyu get a serp and then move? I've never noticed any patterns with serp fishing, though it seems sometimes like if I keep battling one slowly, more tend to pop up (and in the same 8x8).

I always fish out the spots sometimes even getting others to pop while fighting the first, but you must remember only fished up serps can have the bottles on them. As a mage fisher water eles work great against them.
