I was the same as you. I quit when AOS came out because I was digusted. I tried some free shards and they were ok for a while, but like you said something was missing. I tried other games and time spent with family kept me away for a long time. I recently got a new job in which I have some time at home where I am the only one here so i decided to jump back in for the free 30 days to see what its like. I have been back 2 weeks and I am enjoying it surprisingly. I guess I didn't like the changes when they happened, but now since thats just the way it is and they are the "norm" I am actually enjoying making some of the new character templates and exploring some of the new dungeons. I found a guild on the second day who i talked with about the old days and they asked me to join. I have been having a good time exploring and hanging out with them. I think you should come back. I think if you try the 30 day trial you will stick around a while. It will never be able to recapture the fond memories from the past or re-create the magic you experienced in the beginning. Remember the first time you died in brit graveyard trying to kill skeletons with a newbie katana? Hopefully you will find there is still something to enjoy and can find some old friends or just make new ones.
