Strange title, but I thought it might grab some attention

.
I doubt many/any of you will remember my char name and after a quick search on MyUO it looks like the new owner must've stopped playing my account some time ago.
Basically I played UO a little before the release of T2A, I then played actively up untill Publish 16 (I think.. the one before AoS). By that time the game had been changed/twisted and (IMO) destroyed. A former shell of what I felt was the best MMORPG (If not the best game) I have ever played. Along with all my free time being eaten up by work and family life, I decided to quit and sell my account.
For a while I tried a number of different MMO's including the popular ones, but they just didnt even compare to what UO was. I then tried some free servers emulating both T2A and UOR and between the 'customising' and the very small player base, soon got fed up of those as well.
I basically can't find another game or server that offered me everything UO had back then. The customising of your characters, player homes, the freedom to do what you please, non-consentual PvP, guild PvP, the community. Everything about the game was 'just right'.
I know UO has continued to change since I quit and after reading abit about the game, it is completely different to the game I picked up off the shelf all those years ago. What I want to know is....:
Is it really that bad?
Whats the community like now? Is it really filled with stupidly bright coloured items and themed items that just 'dont fit'. What does the new graphic engine feel like to play with? Do trammel and fel still have the same rules? Is there anyone still playing in fel? Are there any active PvP guilds? Is there any PvP at all anymore? Do PKs still roam the dungeons?
Is it worth coming back to? Is it still unique? I probably already know the answer, but I just thought I would check. I have loads of very fond memories of UO and would hate to taint them with a images of a 'new UO' that just cant deliver.
Any and all thoughts welcome
