![]() There are several options for the new chat window: First locate a small UO icon in the top left corner of the chat window (If you dont see the chat window hover the cursor over the text area and the chat window will appear). Now that you have located the UO icon you have options by right clicking on the window's title ("chat" for me) to the right of the UO icon, and you have other options available by left clicking a small "?" icon below the UO icon. 1- Right clicking the "chat" title you can lock or unlock it, create more chat boxes, change the colours, and choose what text imputs will show in the chat window (the ones with a * to the left of them will be shown in your chat window). When you make a new chat box and choose what you want to be displayed, that same option will be disabled in your other chat windows (for example: if you choose system messages in one chat box they will only show in that one and not in the other chat boxes). To talk in guild or alliance chat first make sure you have those two enabled to show in your chat box (with a *). 2- Left clicking the small "?" icon you can choose what channel you want to send your text to (so you can yell, talk normally, or in guild and alliance chat). You can also do this with shortcuts typing before your message /guild or /g, /party or /p, /alliance or /a, /say or /s. 3- To send tells type "TELL (user id): (message)". *you dont type in the "()"s, and the user id is not his name but a unique number assigned to each character. 4- You can also type /help or /h to get more detailed information on creating custom channels, how to set passwords ban people etc from your custom channel, and also info on the /afk command for automessages and how to change your automessage, etc. 5- Position and size. If your chat box is unlocked (option available via right click on title bar), you can change the position of you chatbox by left clicking and holding the left mouse button on the chat title and draging it to where you want it. To change the width and height of your chatbox look for a triangle with a dot in it that is in the lower right corner of your chat box, left clicking and holding the left mouse button on that icon and then draging to get the size you want. 6- To change the position of the small text imput box you first have to show it by pressing enter (just like if you were going to type something) and then left click and hold the left mouse button on any empty space inside the textbox and then drag it to where you like. Hope this helps you out ![]() Last edited by UOreaper; 30th March 2008 at 09:11 PM.. | |

![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues To attract new players EA also should support Windows Vista, if you get a new computer you most likely will have Windows Vista pre-installed. I have Windows Vista and UOKR runs just fine, but i also experience random crashes from time to time. Other than that i noticed the same bugs that have been posted already in this thread. UO KR is the only reason why i play UO again, i played UO since it's release up to T2A, good old days... Now only because of the new client it dragged me back to UO, i couldn't stand the old 2d client anymore, real poor graphics and the 2d client also doesn't run as smooth as the KR client imo. I have no idea how the other poster above with a 3.6 Ghz computer says it doesn't run smooth (note, such a cpu with 3.6 Ghz is faster than some dual core cpus), but i have zero problems with my dual core. KR runs just awesome smooth with Geforce 7600 GS (a mid-end card). However, i can savely say that KR definetly has a memory leak, with 4 GB ram on Windows Vista after about 15 hours playtime the client starts to lag a bit. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues A little off topic here; I think the video card makes the difference with KR. I am on the cusp of purchasing a new video card/or a 2nd system. I am running a dual core AMD 6000+ with 64bit Vista and 4 GB of ram and an embedded NVIDIA 61xx series video card. KR on it is the most herky jerky experience I can imagine. I don't think the jerkyness is from KR. I feel that my video is the issue, and that a replacement card will make the experience much nicer. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues I tried out KR but my biggest thing with KR was I didnt like the layout. I like having the small screen and all my spells and backpacks and journal anddoll on the side. WIth KR everything seemed too complicated for me to use. i didnt like the macros |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues you know, that you can make the layout to look exactly like 2d? With the play window and you paperdoll and spellicons on the side? You just have to check "flexible desktop" in the options and create your self some hotbar (size and orientation changable), then you spellicons will only need one click instead of double-click. I guess the biggest problem of KR is the missing manual ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues Yes, I have heard others tell me that but, I am such an 'old schooler' I cant change - it is so awkward playing in KR mode. Plus, for whatever reason my computer has serious lag when playing KR which isnt cool. Though Im sure soon enough they will make me play in that mode. |

![]() | Re: KR Top Ten Issues Here is one of the crashes we are talking about: UOerror.jpg Happened quite a couple of times already for me. In New Haven right after i checked the bank for some food and bandaids, then i headed back to the moongate and in the mid way this crash occured. I user Windows Vista and i know that Vista is not official supported, but like i said... Vista should be supported nowadays. I have no idea if this could be a Vista problem though. |
