A little advice please

Hi,

I'm working on a Bushido Archer and need a little advice on my temp, this is what I have so far.

Archery-120 (Actual)
Bushido-94 (should I shoot for 120 or is 110 good enough?)
Tactics-110
Anatomy-110
Resist-100 (scrolled to 110)
Healing-60's (planning on 90)
Chiv-50 (plan on bumping up a little with jewelry)

I'd like to be able to use him for pvm & pvp

Should I keep Tactics & Anatomy at 110?

Should I go for 120 resist?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: A little advice please

Strongly recommend the Resist, but other more experienced PvPers should weigh in... There's a reason that 120 scroll is so expensive...

Thanks Magister, I guess I'm just trying to figure out how to optimize the temp, especially for damage out-put.

For resist is it a huge advantage at 120, say over 115 ?

Just remember, you can't give damage to a mage, if their first combo kills you...la

Re: A little advice please

I would think about resist, look into exactly what spells it works against. I had 88 resist but dumped it for parrying, and I still do very well. Although I do have 120 swords, and 90 parrying. So evaluate it based on situatin, I have 139 strength.

Truer words have never been spoken. So, once I survive that first combo, I return fire with my mage killer. Magical shortbow, 42 FB, 40 HLD, 35 SSI and 43 DI. Unless they cast protection, they won't get another spell off, and if they did cast protection, they're dead before they get two more decent spells off lol. If you're going to PvP with an archer, a GOOD magical short will come in VERY handy against mages.

Stealth and hiding comes in handy against them, too.

Re: A little advice please

Well i would go for:

Archery 120
Bushido 120
Focus or Meditation 120
Tactics 100
Anatomy 100
Healing 90
Chivalry 70

In pvp you need a lot of specials, so i would prefer the mana bump from Focus/Meditation. You will need a trapped box against paralyse and maybe orange petals against poison.

But you can also go for:

Archery 120
Bushido 120
Resist Spells 120
Anatomy 100
Tactics 100
Healing 90
Chivalry 70

When u can get enough mana reg and max lmc on your suit, this might be more the template you want. Best thing is to try both and then decide what u like more.

Re: A little advice please

Thanks for the advice everyone! So having tactics & anatomy at 110 really isn't doing anything for me ?

Re: A little advice please

10 More tactics gives you a little more damage, 10 more anatomy gives you a little more damage and a little more hp from bandie heal.

Re: A little advice please

If you're taking PvP seriously on an archer: lose the Bushido.

It's a PvM skill or at best in PvP a parry skill.

100+ Skill points for lightning strike + confidence + lesser hiryu really isn't worth it.

on my main PvP red archer i play:

120 Archery
120 Resist
120 Anat
120 Tactics
100 Healing
70 Chiv
the rest on Meditation.

This allows you to survive vs Mages

The chivalry is great for loot rights on a champ & killing tamers pets ( i always carry a dragon slaying bow and a beetle slaying talisman)

Once you have that template (or something similar), you can begin your suit & weapons.

Look for Weapons with mods in this order SSI, HLD, DI, Hit Spell

Try and get a few weapons to cover each situation that arise in PvP.

For Example i carry:

Heavy Crossbow - Dismounts
Bow - Mortal / Stun (my favourite weapon)
Comp Bow - Moving Shot (to finish off a low target offscreening)
and the either
Crossbow - Concussion (Great Damage but a little slow)
Magical Shortbow - Lightning Arrow (Great Vs Mage, fast but damage is a fair bit less than Xbow)

Finally your suit

This needs to be 70 80 60 60 60 in my opinion

the reasons for this is that most dexxers do not have the intelligence to cast consecrate weap, so phys must be high

Necros Will alway corpse skin, follow by explo FS, so keep your fire high. But for some reason they never use poison strike much so the Poison only needs to be 60

the other 2, will hit 60 when you're cursed no matter what, so 60 is fine.

The suit will need decent MR (about 8), 40lmc, 40+ HCI, 170 Stamina after potting, and then if you can afford the pieces, try and get at least 40 EP, and 40DI.
