Re: Good shield?

Any shield with HCI is a good one as it doesn't spawn anymore.
So if you have a high DCI and any HCI at all, I'd call it a keeper.

HCI/DCI/FC is the best you can get for paladin.
I have a few close to max in both HCI DCI not gonna sell them for sure

Re: Good shield?

Stone, it's certainly a keeper, though I hate bucklers. Don't get me wrong, I actually use a couple, but it is the lamest looking shield (to me) in the game. My favorites for looks are Heater's by far, then Tear Kite and regular shields in that order. Bucklers look so puny compared to the other's, not that it matters.

Re: Good shield?

LOL, that is true, but they don't look like they would block anything. I like the shields that look like they actually do something hehe. With that said, my spellweaving/inscrip/mage char wears a 14 DCI, 14 RPD buckler verite buckler that I like quite well for him. I try NOT to let him get hit.

Re: Good shield?

This is a shield I currently have on auction.

UO-Auction 2

Just waiting for a fool with enough money to stop by and buy my shield.
It's all about personal preferences though, as the usefulness depends on the rest of your armour (due to HCI/DCI being maxed out easily).
Still, if you have few other HCI/DCI bits on the rest of your armour, then this type of shield can be quite nice. Ecspecially because of the FC property and the added resists.

Re: Good shield?

That shield is pretty common really.. Will never get 18mill!

If you know removed the +FC and had SC instead.. then maybe..

For 18 mil. you'd have to make me a GM... as in Game Master with god-like powers!

Re: Good shield?

Well, I've seen the same bows that sell on vendors for roughly 500k, go on auction for 20-50mil.

I am figuring that somewhere there are people with too much money who love spending it.
So, if they are spending it anyway, why not on me?
If that shield doesn't sell then it's cool, if it does then I'll be rather happy!

I don't blame ya! I'm a real cheapskate about buying stuff in the game myself and after all these years playing, all I finally have is 20 million total.

Good luck!

Re: Good shield?

Well, I am one of those people who bought a set of midnight bracers and ornament of the magician, only to find out that just two months later I could have saved 40mil+ if I had waited a little bit. Heh.

Money in UO means little to me though, I have been rich a few times and I have been incredibly rich (100mil+) at least once.
It was fun while it lasted but for some reason money never just sits in my bankbox.
It always gets spent on trivial stuff.
