Re: April Fool's Gifts?

Ah yes...Fifth year stealable cakes!

Here's a thought:

"Thief Competition"
- Every player receives, as a gift, a cursed 1 stone item. It has each player's name on it.
- It cannot be deposited in a bank, put in a pack horse/beetle, or locked down. In otherwords, it must remain in your pack or be dropped on the ground to vanish quickly
- At the end of a certain period of time, the thief with the most cursed items on his person (not linked to his/her own account) gets a prize
- Alternatively, the gifts can be traded to an NPC for points (but only if it is not yours). Points are redeemed for items.
- Alternatively (and my new favorite) every time the gift is stolen, it gets updated with a "Stolen by {name} - 01/01/08." If you manage to stay logged in for a certain number of hours without it being stolen, you get a prize. Whenever the gift is in play, a global message is released to all players with *real* Snooping+Stealth+Stealing >= 200 with it's current location. "The gift is in Minoc" for example. Hints could also come from Town Criers. Logging out or putting the gift ANYWHERE except the top level of a backpack causes the gift to relocate to one of several known areas around the facet - preferably places where recall is disabled. If you have the gift at server maintenance, you still have it at server up.

Thoughts? Clearly, I'm bored...
