My second question of the day...

I know a soulstone from a token will not work for anyone except the person who redeemed it. However if the soulstone is a 1st year veteran reward, can it be bought from a vendor and used?

hmm...they don't come in token form as a vet reward? honestly that one I wouldn't know. *ponders* I would think 'no' if it's redeemed as a stone.

you can buy soulstone tokens, and use them if your account is the correct age, I believe, but not an actual soulstone. If the stone (or fragment) is already redeemed, it is account-bound, and therefore, useless for anything other than deco.

1st year veteran reward soulstone (red) comes only as a stone once selected, it does not and has never come in token form. You must be in a safe place to claim it (either in a inn/tavern or your house). Once taken it is placed in your bank box of the character you chosen to collect it on. It is bound for that account, though any character on that accunt can use it.

So no, buying one from a vendor is only a piece of decoration. It will not work at all.

The soulstone I saw was a vet reward and it was sitting right next to one that wasn't on a vendor. The funny thing was the vet reward was more expensive by almost 100k.

My apologies, I didn't remember it going straight to the bankbox, lol. I know a guildie bought a couple recently, and was very disappointed when he learned he couldn't use them. Hefty price to pay for not asking first! Thank you for clarifying, Warsong!

as long as you actually see a token (for either a soulstone or a soulstone fragment) anyone can buy them from a vendor and use them.

I believe the problem lately has been a rash of red soulstones with like for example 115 bushido stored on them (or any high amount of skill) I have noticed for sale on Lake Superior. Seems to me that people are trying to charge more for these stones to trick people into buying them, thinking they are getting something for nothing. On the same vendor one red soulstone was like 50k, but one red soulstone with the 115 bushido was priced 150k. Even though both are just decoration.

The red soulstone is the olny vet reward that's account bound.

but you are incorrect,

If you buy a solstone token or a soulstone fragment token (yes these can be traded/sold to other players) but once you claim/use said token, the resulting soulstone or soulstone fragment becomes account bound (but any character in that account can use them) which only makes them usable as a housing decoration for any other account.

But I must say, she is correct that it is the only VET REWARD which is account bound. At least I cannot think of anything else, like banners, statues, ethys or dye tubs, which cannot be traded.
