Having problem getting credit for slaying the arcane daemon

and collecting a summon fiend scroll. In the paperdoll quest log, it shows that I've already killed 2 of those arcane daemons, and in the lower portion it also shows Total 0 killed! When I killed them, I did hear the affirmative musical tones. But when I return to Elder Brae in Sanctuary after death defying runs thru the gauntlet, he wants me to go kill one still more. Asking a GM for aide, only got me the orange dot message and send a bug in, can't replace lost items mumbo jumbo. I do have 3 other quests in my log, the dreadhorn quest and 2 that I cannot for the life of me get cancelled from the Candle of Love quests. A friend is having the same issue trying to complete this mission. Anyone have any ideas on resolving this please?

I just went through this issue myself last night. After leaving Sanctuary three times and killing Arcanes, then making it back into Sanctuary in one piece, he still told me I hadn't completed the quest. So, I canceled the quest (NOT the chain!!!) and got the quest again. Off I went to kill another Arcane, and FINALLY, I got my scroll. So, try canceling the quest (NOT the chain!!!) and doing it again. Hope this helps!

Just noticed the date on your post... hope you've completed it by now

Yup, same thing happened to me yesterday. I believe the reason the problem occurs is that the quest is timed. When I first went, couldn't find the arcane demon, and a message came up saying that I had failed blah, blah, blah. Went to Sanctuary after I found one and killed it. It said that I didn't do it, so I accepted the quest again, killed another. Still said I didn't do it. I had to quit the quest (not chain) and get the quest a third time. That's the charm! Killed a third arcane demon and got my spell scroll...

This was a known issue that has supposedly been resolved by Leurocian.

Search around on the board for the posts about it.
