Can anyone please help, EA are useless
Hi, I recently posted about having issues with one of my accounts.
Basically I created my account about a year and a half ago with Ultima Online Samurai Empire. After about 2 months I upgraded to Mondains Legacy with an Upgrade Code. After enjoying another 6 months playing I decided to take a break from Ultima and suspended my account. Now the other day I decided I wanted to return to UO and in doing so logged in on my account and attempted to reactivate my account but I was asked for an upgrade code. A code I never had or never should have needed to apply since I had the account already registered to Mondains Legacy. Yet, I needed a code to reactivate my account so I inserted a free 14 day trial code and this was accepted. When patched and ready to play I logged in and found all my characters from the shard I used to play on..... gone. Clearly something is really wrong, I check my acccount now and it shows that I am not registered to anything but the 14 day trial so that £30 spent to get an ML code was pointless since it's been wiped from my account. I've contacted EA 3 times over the phone and they were no help whatsoever, emailed them twice and they referred my issue as "Reactivating my account" when actually the account is fine itself, I can play UO now, just without the upgrades I spent so much money on and the 8 hard months of work put into my characters. If anyone has any advice or contact numbers for an UO Representative instead of EA I would really much appreciate it. I live in the UK however a US number would be ok ![]() Many Thanks for reading my issue hope someone can help |

I don't know the answer, but this is what comes to mind when reading of your situation.
1. You entered a different account name 2. Entering the 14-day trial wiped out anything on your account previously.

If it did wipe it out I dunno if theres anyway to get it all back?
I do have another account name but I can't remember the password nor the email address it was linked to. When I mentioned it to EA they said they couldn't do anything about it specifically because they dont interact with UO and then I asked for a telephone number and they said they dont have one! ![]() |

I'm not exactly sure why your chars disappeared from the first account you activated.
1-866-543-5435 Is that the # you called? If you don't remember the email address it was linked to, you might be able to use other information to verify that the account is yours. Like your address, credit card info used on the account. Good luck and hope you get your characters back. |

A friend of mine just went through something similar and was able to retrieve the username from his account (which was dormant for 6 years) by confirming over the phone the last credit card that his account was billed to. This allowed the EA rep to reset his password and connect his account to his current email address. (He no longer has the email account he had 6 years ago). It took him 3 days of phone calls, but finally he got a hold of somebody who knew what they were doing. He got all of his characters back.
My guess is that your characters are under the account that you can't remember the password to. EA's FAQ documentation online mentions that they don't wipe characters from accounts. (Adam posted the actual content of the FAQ recently in a similar thread).

I rang EA USA instead of pain is ass UK line and they said it had probably all been deleted after 90 days

That's what they said? I don't think they've deleted any chars in a long time. Certainly not in the last 2 years.

They supposedly changed the housing decay from 90 days to 30 days after the account went inactive/unpaid. In practice however, I think this worked for about 90 days and then the decay returned to a 90 day timer, or at least in the case of my experience it has been so.
