I think this would make for excellent RPing!

Which is what I am aiming for on Pacific and that is to build up the RP community again.

I wrote a story line for this idear. I'm sorry for barging in on your thread, but I wanted to get input on it from some peeps with more event experience. TY

Title: The Lotus and the Prefect

Entities and Characters:
Order of the Lotus - Martial Arts - Melee
Order of the Night Sky - Arcanist's - Forces of Nature - Magic
The Lotus -given name: Shivana
The Prefect -given name: Onus
Leader of the Order of the Night Sky -given name: Reval
(more will be added as the story grows)

The storyline will lead to an event which will force three 'teams' to defend their territory and/or to take another. Like someone said in the thread. heh that rymes. It will be more fun with a storyline.

The Lotus And The Prefect


The island atoll of Ocllo was split between the east and
west between the Order of the Night Sky and the Order of the Lotus,
respectively. They learned to live in
harmony. Exhausted by a past filled
with senseless feuds and land squabbles, a treaty of sorts was reached between the two
peoples. The city of Ocllo proper was
built with the mutual economic and territorial interests of the two
orders. The town was essentially the
neutral common ground bound to no one tribe.
The nature of the treaty, in respect of the town, was that it would
exist as a separate entity like that of a capitol of a country. Although the peoples of the atoll migrated
from separate cultures, the capitol city was an amalgamate of the two vastly
different cultures.

There came a day, as there always does, when a
silver-tongued leech attached itself to the leader of the territory of the
west. Shivana of the order of the
Lotus. His name was Onus. The lady was quite cunning herself, but she
trusted the Prefect implicitly. To her
folly, she did not have the slightest inclination to the gears and webs turning
and spinning in the mind of Onus. He
lusted for the power he knew he deserved to rule over the peoples of the
atoll.

For months the Prefect secretly recruited those in the land
with misgivings and bred hatred and contempt in the hearts of the dregs and the
poor. He promised them shares of the
coffers held by the orders of the land.
Soon, the leech had his coup in order.
Threatening to loose itself like a whirlwind at any moment, Onus had to
release the lever and set the machine in motion.

The Lotus, Shivana, had a network of paid spies and
informants amidst the people. Although,
being that the Prefect was second in command, he was also the filter for all
such reports. But Onus knew that it
would only be a matter of time until something or someone slipped past him to
Shivana.

Onus prepared his final calculations to take the town of
Occlo and choke off the free flow of monies and goods between the Orders. Control the capitol of the atoll and all of
the island would belong to him. The
Prefect found himself clenching his fists without the voluntary thought of
doing so. “NOW! Now is the time to put Ocllo’s neck on the
block! I will rid that hierophantic !!!!!
and those filthy arcanists to the east of their power. It will be mine.”

The Order of the Night Sky had suspicions to the betrayal to
the Lotus. But due to the slightly
xenophobic nature of their elected leader Reval, they began to fortify their villages and farms and made no initial attempt at informing The Lotus. They knew that Shivana trusted Onus with her life.

Excellent storyline, but seems it would be rewriting the history of our shard and the guilds involved. That's just my take and I do not wish to discourage your creativity in the least! No no....just it does not fit with Havok and ATD guild, from what I know of them.

Thank you on the creativity part. But this story line is for my guild on Baja. The Mage Tower. I'm trying to give out RP'ing a kick in the arse. Because there is none. I stole the 'Risk' idea and wanted feedback on this storyline since you all have more experience with RP'ing. heh Sorry, I see now that I wasn't clear on that.

Well, since it's for your shard, and providing it fits your background there...I say it's wonderful and go for it! I will caution though, true role play allows for a lot of spontaneous add in's from participants, which you may or may not have thought of. I strongly recommend you not discourage people from taking things off your 'course' or else it becomes like a play and then no one knowing their 'LINES' of how you want things to go wants to pursue it further. Best of luck to you in your new endeavor.

How's the pit-fighting going? I'm tempted to make a Kegan on Baja just to get into another pit...do you plan on using just GM gear?

Pitfights I'm still working on. So many ideas I'm stealing from you're forum and so little time. heh We will be using gm gear as well when it gets underway here within the month. We seem to be mostly waiting on peoples character preparation. We'll be using pretty much the same guidelines as your pitfights.
