How is mana leech caclulated?

I went to Noxins website to and I have total mana regen of 1.47 per second. I have 7 mana regen with 100 focus and 25 LMC.

Should a bow in the high 20's to 30's be ok?

Well, all leeches are pretty much nerfed now.

If I remember well, you can leech up to 20% (not sure of the exact number) of the damage you do, this is your max leech.

So let's say you hit for 100 hit points (easy with AI), you will be able to leech 20 mana at max.
Now let's say your weapon has 60% mana leech, you'll leech 12 mana.
There is a full blown explanations with maths in a thread from MrTact.

So, for leeches to be useful, your hits must be very hard and you need a weapon with as high leech as possible.

In PvP for example, where your hits are in the very max range of 30-40, max leech would be 6-8... considering it'll be hard to find a good weapon with 100% leech, you won't get much mana from your weapon.

For the record, I very rarely had any leech over 80 on weapons and they were crap.

So what u are saying is that you take you damage and multiply that by the % number of leech.

you have a 20% ML weapon and you do 30 damage=

30*.20=6 ??

Well no, there is a fixed percentage that determines Max Leech, then the leech on your weapon determines which part of that Max Leech you actually get.

So for each hit you'll receive [Weapon Leech]% of [Max Leech].
Your Max Leech is : Damage * [fixed value]
Your actual leech is for example : 0,6 * Max Leech. (if your weapon has 60% Mana Leech)

isn't it less per leech as well? that whole diminishing returns thing tact was so fond of?

no it's based on weapon speed, if your speed is faster, you have less leech, to avoid a leeching machine gun
Like being able to keep moving shot going on and on with a high leech bow
Also, it is now a range value between the max leech you can do and 0, but the max leech is not the fixed value but the one derived using your weapon leech %... if you read MrTact explanation it'll make more sense... well... it should at least... took me some time to see how it actually behaves.

I read it when it first came out and it didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now heh all I know is after that publish, you couldn't solo a rat spawn with a soulseeker on a chiv dexxer anymore

I read it a couple times and I am still shaking my head. But I did find a chart on uoguide also that helps. So basicaly I will need a bow without SSI or very low SSI and that packs a punch.

Well, you still can (I've been known to ), but it's a lot harder now. The nerfed leeches suck! Had to be said...

yeah I realized after I posted that I should have said it's not impossible, it's just considerably harder...you actually need chiv or healing now and not just the weapon alone ;)
