Re: Centralized RP Community?

It's already been established that everyone is too proud to move to a different city with an already active guild, justifiably so or not.

I think its because a lot of people's ego's annoy other people.

I would be happy to make another alt.

I'd make an alt and join a single community guild if someone made it.

Re: Centralized RP Community?

Isn't it a bit pointless to talk about a centralized community when almost every char in it can use recalls? It made sense that CoY was largely centralized as magery users were strictly limited. Nowadays if guild A would want to interact with guild B they could do so with little effort, centralized or not. Exception being the witch free yewish Militia of course

For this concept to become a reality, it must revolve around an established large guild. Setting up roots from scratch will not work. Injecting activity into dead areas will not take root either, you must feed existing areas.
Where the hell have you been the last, er, three/four years?

Edit: I should point out, that's a genuine question, I'm not being abusive and/or sarcastic.

Re: Centralized RP Community?

To be honest for many of us, recalling and magery is OOC for us and its not good roleplay for our characters, so walking is the option we have.

I've never seen the fact there are such guilds in different city's stretches across the globe of sorsaria a problem, i just think they need to interact with each other a lot more rather than keeping it to themselves.

I mean.. i cant think of a REAL war that's going on atm? Nothing like the Minoc war anyway.

Re: Centralized RP Community?

I don't get the posts about recalling, cause it doesn't really take long to walk/run to places either. From Vesper hq to stonekeep it takes a couple of minutes of running.

I thought the whole point of this idea was to "force" RPers to live and interact with eachother, thus making it into ONE community. Now we're not one community. We're a bunch of diffrent communities (Vesper, Yew, Trinsic, Cove and evildoers) that hardly ever interact with the other communities, and that is fairly sad in my opinion.

As posted earlier, some guilds like to play aroun with themselves, which is fine I guess, but atleast I really enjoy playing with other people, and I enjoy playing with people I don't play with all the time too. Makes life a heck of alot more interesting for me.

Re: Centralized RP Community?

I was feverously against recalling for years. Then I just thought "... fk it."

I was constantly bombing back and forth between Vesper and Yew and I just couldn't be arsed. If I was with someone and we had time to roleplay and walk and enjoy it then fine. But if I was on my own and just hopping about from A to B, it's not like anyone's there to witness my roleplay anyway. Sod it. Zttzzaaaap.

If everybody centralized, I'd abandon the recall books in a flash. But while the game is spread out across Trinsic, Vesper, Cove and Yew I really see no harm in their use anymore, frankly. I don't roleplay that Hedlyn is using magic or that he really is teleporting places, I try to disguise it with stealth and not abuse it in conflicting situations (though it has been known as a funny way to confuse morons abusing tracking) - to me I see it as purely an OOC thing, just to cut out long / boring unnecessary bits of the game so I can get on with roleplaying.

Hiding in plain sight... Sneaking unnoticed down the middle of a busy road... Hiding instantly upon being revealed...

For the record, I'm not pointing any fingers. Especially not at rbl, which could be seen as implied, by the fact I'm replying to Hedlyn.
