I didn't realize ML was that old. I really should close my last two, dusty, accounts. Over 2 years?

Well, since in spite of the age of this thread, everyone is answering it, here's mine. Are folks seriously thinking only 100-250k in insurance? Really? If, on average, you insure ring/brace/gloves/arms/gorget/leggings/shield/tally/weapon (if equipped), and EVERYTHING else is blessed (headgear, footwear, robe, cloak/quiver, spellbook), that is 8-9 insured items per death. At 600gp/insured item, that is 4800-5400 MINIMUM per death, perhaps more if your other items are not blessed. Obviously, some will be more some will be less. I personally use 7000k/death as an insurance cost as an average across all my chars. So those of you saying 100k-250k are telling me you've only died ~20-40 times in the game?? Wow. Now, I'm not saying that's not true at all, please don't misunderstand me, but I want the secret. Heck, my guild did the bedlam champ (Ilhenar the Stained) a couple months ago, and I died something like 17 times doing it, including 3 successive rez kills (due to my stubborness lol). That was119k in insurance on that event ALONE, and all we got was a little gold and some titles (which were VERY cool and WELL worth the gold hehe).

So what's the secret folks? I figured, since I started playing 18 months ago, that my insurance costs are in the millions. Honestly. I figure Doom alone since December when I started farming it for two months is close to a million there spread over 3 chars. Either folks have great success (clue me in please) or seriously underestimate their losses. Remember, in pvp the killer gets HALF of your insurance, the sink gets the other half. It still is costing you 600gp/piece each time you reinsure, not the 300gp the victor received. Just my observations.

I know I changed my tactics after my Bedlam snafu. Since then, I have thoroughly scouted what I will be fighting and tailored my characters accordingly. I do a lot of running away, and still die quite a bit on my mage (despite being 110+ Necro, Magery, and GM SpellWeave). I don't know what I am doing wrong with him, but he is a death magnet.

Good point though, at 7k per death (which is what I estimate also) the gold adds up fast... no wonder my account is always empty.
