Firstly, there is so much bad blood both IC and OOC that many people can't/won't interact with certain other groups or are reluctant to make the first step and interfere with foreign affairs. A fresh start (ideally) brings a degree of anonymity to everyone
|
And how long would that anonymity last?
Surely that same bad blood would resurface as soon as you find out that OOC that nice milk maid who smiles shyly at you is in fact some git who's been flaming you all these years or that your best mate from your current guild is the swine who keeps knocking you without warning everytime you step outside your front door.

Why dont we just do what i'm sure someone else has said. Vote on an overall leader on these forums {Idealy someone who isnt currently a Gm, maybe Callumf}, create one city guild, say brit for example, and all create and join a new char? We wouldnt have to leave old guilds, no disbanding or anything yet, just lets see how this new single city does!

I'm afraid if everyone created a new char and hopped aboard this new guild for a week or two until the novelty wore off and the same old challenges came to the fore by the time people resume with their old already established chars the existing RP community would be dead due to all that game time wasted on such a venture.
I'm not denying times are hard at the moment and yeah I guess it's only human nature that the grass looks greener elsewhere when things become tough and challenging but in my opinion, and that's all it is, take it or leave it, we have more chance working hard at the community we already have in place with all it's diversity than starting afresh.
