Happy you never played in EUs most hated guild. Did you really lack of for her saying you cant get a rl? and Henry is right.. just moving shortly to one spot wont solve this.. You need to move the whole HQ.. and thats abit more trouble to handle, since it involves alot of history. Sure its easy to say the HQ burned down and we moved there.. But that also means they are tossing all effort they've put into it through the years, Still - keep it a bit calm in here so the thread can go on. This is a important thing for RP to go on. Yelling at each other wont solve any.. Somehow I see that everyone els but the Yew guilds got easier to move toghter than with them. Maybe a start?

Re: Centralized RP Community?
The way i see it and from all the posts and repeated times this thread has been made, no one wants to or is willing to move. Only a few Gms have even bothered to post in here, go figure.

Re: Centralized RP Community?
Are GM boards still up? Should open a thread there - have them discuss it.. and then have each GM discuss it with their members.

Maybe we could find a new area with lots of space and use Sineal's idea and start a new guild, even a player-run city? |

Re: Centralized RP Community?
or ! i like hedlyn's ideas of setting up scenario's/find reasons too that firstly will make us interact together, get over those differences by just getting to know eachother better ic ? From there on it may become easier to move ?
And uo isn't as dead as some of you say Yeah it's more quiet then it used to be because a lot of folks who used to be active have gone. Sorry to say but that isn't a completely bad thing. Life goes on, people start to do other things and new faces will step forward to do new things.

Id give that a shot too.. Since at moment its too quiet for me. Takes too much time to find the interaction I can enjoy - which makes me not log into UO. Then I rather logon lotro and get instant interaction. So maybe this newchar new guild is the right way to go in the end.

Err... no? I'm pretty sure she wasn't aiming the comment at me. I wasn't the one making the drow-lesbian-cyber gag, I was just pointing out the drow = largely designed for perverts. I think it's pretty obvious to anyone that can read that what annoyed me was how quickly she tried to be offended to cause a fuss.

Re: Centralized RP Community?
My ideas?
Ok, look. Centralization - as I explained to a dear friend of mine on ICQizzle last night - will never happen instantly. There's too much politics floating around. He himself even pointed out that, despite how much he'd love to see it happen, he'd still feel that if he uprooted and moved to Yew it'd feel like "Grd had won." If you want to centralize, centralize. Stop looking at it like some big one-off move. Stop looking at it like everybody has to uproot and go together. Stop looking at it like it needs some brave hero to step forward and lead you to the promised land. Pick up your guild, find a clearing in a populated town (I'm still voting Yew for purely physical, in-game convenience, ie the amount of great spots for houses / player run villages) and make an excuse to go there. If you're doing something good, if you're doing something fun, keep people up to do date with it and they'll show an interest. Next step? Tell your friends. Get them to do the same for their guild, and their friend's guilds and so on and so forth. It's the human sheep theory. Right now you've got a thread at least half full of people that want to centralize - and someone's got to go off the cliff first. So my idea? At least one of you, stop talking - and do. And before someone says "why don't you?", I think I kinda have. [Edit: For example, Van (if he reads this, or anyone from -V- does), if you're still considering taking a village in Yew for a staging point for attacks from Vesper, go do it! Get in touch, I'll happily show you some great spots!]

Twelve people or one person who tries to create RP scenarios? I know who i'd pick everytime. They left because they're lazy.. Their own fault, not the lack of RPers. |
