Help for a new player - lock picking

I would welocme any advice whatsoever on raising my lock picking. I am a fairly new player. I don't think I need to raise it particularly high, just enough to let my Paladin do his Treasure Maps.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help for a new player - lock picking

you need to gm lockpicking to open level 6 chests.

look around on your home shard, many have lockpicking houses where you can go to train on multiple boxes.

or you need to find a tinker with about 20 points higher than your skill have them make you a few boxes, pick them till you gain about 20 points, then rinse and repeat, at 85 skill unless my memory is faulty you can pick chests in dungeons.

That's about right.

You can also train on the crates in Vesper's Bank.

Re: Help for a new player - lock picking

A little Magery, 5-6 tiles, and a Telekenesis spell can fix that.

Re: Help for a new player - lock picking

Also, try this:

- Obtain a full set of tinkered lockboxes, appropriate for each stage of lockpicking
- Go to Twisted Weald and attack a Satyr
- Run out the gate and run back in quickly
**you might die a few times doing this, especially if you get a Cu or a paragon provoked on you by the Satyr
- Follow the satyr around while you lockpick

It's a minor bother to set up the discord, but definitely worth it. As a bonus, grab a magic wand and train magery in this manner. You'll be amazed...
