Hooray for the people that have been hunting dragons forever.

Tough s**t for the ones who just figured out how to hunt them.

Yay, that's SO fair.

I heard someone say he tamed 4 dragons last night, now that makes for a seriously overpowered pet and I believe that pets shouldn't be all that strong to begin with.

That's right, nerf tamers!!

I do want to reply to this. I was sitting outside Destard last night after failing miserably last night to tame one. ( I hear Honoring yourself is the trick) I was loring them as they came out.

I have one in my Stable now too as someone gave me one. I have a White Wyrm (Old) and a Dragon ( New) Let me get some Screenies.. but they aren't worth it. about 200 more HPs and some more magery. (Keep in mind the Wyrm has 50% Physical Damage and 50% Cold damage, that's the only difference.) In Some cases the Dragon is better, in most cases the White Wyrm is better, so what do you gain that is worth dieing 800 times? 200 more hit points? What does that buy you? 2 or 3 more minutes of life against a Monster?

AGain I am comparing this to a WW. So maybe a Another Draogn has worse Stats? I might tame one later and see. If your interested I'll screenies of the wild dragons. they looes 50 - 60% of their stats upon taming.. Ouch.

Re: New bad dragons

But the new dragon is pretty bad ass on magery

High Int, Mana, hitpoints .. 107 Magery without training... Just train up the eval on it.. and you got a bad boy.

I started hunting dragon since I started UO and it is tough s**t for me now. I don't think at someone that has only been playing for a couple of months should be able to solo a dragon(which I was doing after playing for 6 months). I having been playing for about 20 months and I like the fact that it is hard for me solo a dragon.

Well, that's great for you.

Couldn't they have put these new, harder dragons in a completely different area and let those who need the extra challenge to go there instead of just randomly buffing ones in existing areas? There are plenty of empty/open areas where these buffed dragons could reside.

It really doesn't matter anyway. No use complaining about it anymore. Nothing I say will convince anyone to anything contrary to what's already happened and I don't see it changing back. So, I guess I'll spend the rest of my days in UO hunting mongbats. At least they're not looking to buff those anytime soon.

Re: New bad dragons

Want easy gold Nasher? Go for Trogdolytes in the Painted Caves. Easiest money you can make on a dexxer. Might help raise the funds for better equipment. Or, if you wanna kill drags, try an archer...the new one's move very slow, and as long as you have resist on your archer, you should be able to take them down no problem...a Horselord is your friend. Seriously, they're tougher but it's not like you can't solo them if you wish to. I seriously think the nice thing is it might require cooperative hunting parties. Is that a bad thing? I think UO has gotten too individualistic, and perhaps the dev's are trying to get back to their roots. Give it a shot again. Oh, and if you can, use disco on them first. Much easier to peace and or kill them after they are discoed.

Sorry, I hunt solo but thanks for the advice. I don't have many friends and most of them aren't on when I am anyway. I can find easy gold. I was making easy gold when they decided to make some dragons extremely difficult to kill.

To Gnomy, I don't pay $13 a month to adapt. I pay $13 to have fun and I'm not having fun anymore.

"So quit", you'll say.

I say, "I shouldn't have to just because people whined about dragons being too weak. You quit and find a more challenging game."

"I don't want to", you'll say.

"See my point?"

Re: New bad dragons

I bumped into a Dragon today at the Demon temple who had 1600 health and 120+ of each skill (except meditation). Is this Dragon you tamed the same type, only its skills were greatly reduced upon taming?

This is where I have to jump in and say, don't take it personal. You are taking it to the point where it's an either or where the only thing it is is a fix.

Dragons weren't meant to be easy, don't be upset they made them how they should be. It's nothing against the "weak" (or whatever you want to call those who couldn't handle them before or can't handle them now) NOR was it anything to the "strong" (those that would wade through the sea of dragon corpses with more worries from stepping on a tooth than an actual dragon) who needed a challange.

THIS CHANGE WAS FOR THE GAME, to keep with the LORE that DRAGONS ARE BIG, NASTY, AND SCARY.

Once again, it's NOT for the "I want the game to be harder" crowd.
