Re: lockpicking training

Actually I wasn’t the one who did the telekinesis, and I don’t know if his hit points was below 80 or if he was too close, but I DID die JUST by picking the lock of a chest. CAN you die JUST by picking a lock WITHOUT opening a chest? If so, I sure wasn’t aware of it.

Re: lockpicking training

I have a trapped, unlocked, bugged crate that someone left at Luna, trying to kill newbs I guess. Knowing about this from old, I picked it up. Using my warrior (all 70's resists) I opened it. 90 damage, at 70 resists!!!

I will try tonight. My guess is that whatever bug is used to make perma trapped chests, was modified so that it was perma trapped and locked. Then when you tried to target it, it sensed you as a dbl clicking it.

Not the first time I have heard of a mysterious fourth chest in Yew., Both times (back on Baja), it was one of these bugged chests.

JLS. You need a tinker/carpy to make you some low level boxes. I mean looooowww. Heh. Like level 30 tinky and carpy. And pick those boxes. Those should get you up to around 55 pretty quickly GL

Re: lockpicking training

well here is what i did for lockpicking. I got a miasma chest. and last objest last targeted it for awhile...burned up a ton, and i mean a ton of lockpicks. This got me to about 80-85 skill. Friends told me I could start picking GM crafted chests at this point, but i didnt have a carpenter, and the skill is objest based. So you need to continuously pick new chests. Which means i would be bothering my carpenter buddy every hour or so for 100 more chests. I went to despise picked the chests on the middle floor Ettins...earth eles. Thank god for ggs! It took about a month and a half. but i finally gm'ed it...thankfully around the same time i gm'ed cartography...and my thunter was born . add a little magery eval and music provo..and soon you will be doing lvl 6 thunts
