2d Client Issues
Alright, im having some issues with my 2d client that I can't seem to figure out.
My 2d client runs sluggishly, however there is no reason it should. I can run KR as decently as it can be, and for comparison I can run WoW just fine which is much more taxing. I have a gig of ram, an AMD 3800+ processor, and a sufficient video card. Could anyone PLEASE help me fix this I cant stand running KR. I have tried uninstalling it. installing it and patching it from an old AoS disc. I have also downloaded the newest 2d client from the UO website. None of this has helped.. I also don't think my connection is the problem. Any help would be appericated... |

Re: 2d Client Issues
Im willing to bet that the more you play it, the faster it will go. This holds true for many apps, tho Im not sure why, and for some reason UO is hugely affected by this.
I was running 2d on PC similar to yours and I had to play for a bit, logg off, play again, log off again, for a day or 2 to get it to perform like it should. A Disk Defrag wouldnt hurt either. |

Re: 2d Client Issues
Hi Tyler
Have you any background processes running like antivirus software? If so disable them then try again. I seem to remember an old trick that changing display colour to 16bit would help too. Dont know if that still applies though. |

Re: 2d Client Issues
go into your task manager and under the processes tab right click the 'client' process and set priority to above average. You have to do this every time you start uo. It's a pain but it noticeably helps for me.

Re: 2d Client Issues
I feel ur pain Tyler. UO has been almost unplayable the last few days on my laptop. All shards. It is a tad better on the desktop, as it should be, but something has changed for sure! Lets hope they get it worked out quickly!
