gaining music?

I've got .1 gains in the last 2 days, what gives? I've just been standing there most the time. Do I need to be moving?

Yeah, plenty. I've actually gone up another 1.3 in the last couple hours. Slow slow slow. still standing in one spot, if that makes a difference. would alternating instruments or anything help? i'm at 96.4

I guess I forgot how tough becoming a bard was. Provo/peace/discord are going to be good training in patience.

I trained Peace first, Music went up with it, stopped Music at GM until Peace was where I wanted it to be.

I worked Peacemaking up to about 93 with pretty routine gains and music went to 100 somewhere along the way. Since I hit about 93 I haven't gotten a gain in about a week. Not sure what the problem is...my skill total is well below the cap. Even at 93 it's pretty handy though.

For super music gains and if you have UOA. Setup a macro off a backpack full of instruments. Just record the macro and double click the instruments. Make the macro a few minutes long. Placing 2000 milliseconds in between each play when your done recording. Run the macro while your running around n stuff. Also, keep in mind that slayer instruments add a 50% success rate and can keep you from gaining depending on the monsters barding difficulty level. Same with exceptional instruments but it goes down to a 20% success chance.

I decided to work peace first, then probably magery/eval/med, so at least I can get some dungeon time in, and make a little gold.

up to 63 peace! still a long, long time to go. My skills are pretty impressive.

34.6 mage
40.9 med
32.0 eval
100 music
50.2 provo
63.2 peace
50.2 disco

I forgot how tough it was to build a new character. Maybe an advanced char would have been worth it.

Well if you can get a full LRC suit with some LMC (helpful, not necessary) and a range of Mage Weapons (see Magery forum for detailed info) then you could have 100 Mage/Med/Eval in a matter of a couple days with some dedicated spellcasting on yourself.

The actual bard skills (except music) seem to take ages though...
