Are thieves still a fun character choice? I know that you cannot steal insured items so.. it makes being a thief even more difficult.

Is this profession still used?

If so what all do people use it to do? Besides some of the artifacts like Inq. Gloves.?

The only thing I really do with my thief aside from Tokuno and Doom runs. is stealth around fel champ spawn areas and attempt to steal stat and skill scrolls. Please take notice that I used the word attempt

lol yeah. I think the thief was best in UO:R , but thats my opinion.

I'm thinking about making one later on. Either that or a Looter. Both seem to be not much use anymore from the dang insurance.

I guess it could be more of a Roleplay theme now. I just hate to see the thief so downgraded right now...

Insurance has it benefits, but don't you all think they should make the looter and thieves more useful?

When I play UO I like to have my norm characters, but then the ones i enjoy the most are my "secret" ones where I can act like someone im totally not. It's a huge vent for me and I love doing it lol

People get rly mad at me along the way sometimes, but that's ok... it's only a game right?

Insurance is...eh
I used it a lot, I must admit, but 600gp for each item is WAY to cheap
It should've been scaled based on the item's value (intensity, number of mods etc)
Or, perhaps disabled in felucca.

What I would like to see is insured items would just simply not apply while in fel.

I love the idea mentioned about no insurance in Fel. If that ever happens Im 110% sure ill make another rogue and looter!

I consider them the funnest profession along with the ninja stealth archer with dismount haha

Best thing for a thief:

Full set of virtue armor, an insured +15 Stealth ring and bracelet and a willingness to die often. Stealth around champ spawns and you can easily pick up enough gold once the champ is dead. If you're lucky, you can swipe a scroll.

So far, I haven't been lucky =P

Alternatively, if you're a twink stealther like me you need a blessed burglar's bandana and some insured shadow dancers and the rest virtue armor, even though you don't get the set bonus.

My plan is to eat the scrolls as soon as I swipe them if I can. This is more for fun than for actual profit.
