Jade sitting in the Great Hall looking at the pieces on the chessboard. Her deep thoughts running like hornets within her skull. A form enters and bows deeply. It was Flipper.

"Evening Flipper," Jade said as she came to the table and sat infront of her Mistress. "You find what I wanted to know the other evening?"

Flipper replies very confidently, "Yes Mistress, I did. It seems that Kaelyn has lost her parents recently and that it was in thier home in Minoc that it happened."

"Poor thing." Jade's eyes still focused on the chess pieces. "To have lost her parents to the flame."

Flipper's eyes seem to grow wide with glee at the thought of the flame dancing along the wooden panels of the building. "Brute force!"

"Pardon?" Jade's eyes look up at Flipper. "Brute force?" she laughs softly at the words. "Brute force was not helpful in our previous attempts, still we are waiting....." sighs softly focusing on the chess pieces.

"Play a game with me, Mistress?" Flipper asked.

"No I would rather play a live game of chess. It is so much more exciting. Each piece has a certain role to play but you first have to figure which pieces are more vulnerable."

Jade looks to Flipper, "Joche has a few spirit bottles he created. We will see to Minoc and see if there is a chance that her parents spirits can be called and sealed within the bottles."


After several minutes, Jade and Flipper see to Minoc and the place of death of Kaelyn's parents. Jade releases her energy within the room searching for traces of spirit energy......Her eyes open suddenly. THEY ARE STILL HERE!

The winds of the island blew as the mists came rolling in from the sea. Jade made her way to the School of Mages to begin the curse. The bottles kept within thier pouch the runes slightly glowing in the darkness.

The circle created, she lays the bottles in place upon the markings. The moonless night casting thick shadows upon the wall of the stone markers, she begins the spell.


"I have called you by name and prisoned you within your tomb, you will do my wishes upon this moonless night." Jade's eyes flash a brilliant green as the spell continues. She takes out her daggar, a glint of gold against the candle light, cutting deep within her own flesh the blood welling up. The rune being made upon the stone floor.

"Send Kaelyn dreams, show her your death make her 'live' within your own nightmare. Allow her feel your fear, let her taste the flames that licked at your flesh!"

She holds the daggar up to the darkness......

"Note my words and send her dreams.....make her sleep no more!"

The Wytch enters her chamber, the ghosts present within the old Library swirls within the shadows cast by the flickering candles. In a corner stands the pouch holding the bottles. Jade opens the pouch and takes out a bottle.

"From the mysts I taken you from your prison and now I open it to allow you to fly. Take my curse with you, find your revenge on the one that has forgotten you. My revenge takes flight!" Jade releases the contents of the bottle. A vile scream echoes off the stone of her chamber, disappearing into the night.

Jade wets her lips thinking of the deed. She looks at the other bottle and softly grins.

First Kaelyn.....
Now Lord Ikus......

"Offering his help and abandoning his word to my requests to see to a member of the house. 'Be graceful' he told me. Just to pacify my rage?" her nails clack on the stone table.

Jade takes a bag of sand from a small wooden chest. She dumps it on the table. She traces a symbol in the sand, then bites into her palm allowing some of her blood to flow. The blood pools within the sand stirring the sand to life. A wave moves the sand back and forth as it takes shape.

The sand becomes solid, forming into a doll. Jade eyes the toy gently. A most lovely thing indeed. The dolls hair is blonde and the skin very fair of the porcelin doll. Jade sets it to dry.

Jade pacing the grounds of her haunted library, she looks at the bottles on the table. Knowing that what Fargo said is correct and that her failures have been less than gracious.

She looks at the bottles sizing them up, "Should I release you?" Jade listens for the sounds from the voices within the bottles. Kaelyn's once beloved parents gone from this world yet thier spirits remain. "No not as of yet."

"I will keep you within the bottle for some time I do believe to see what will happen. Perhaps allow Kaelyn to say her goodbyes correctly?" Jade's fingers touch each bottle gently. Jade places the bottles back within the pouch.
