Update from Cathat! (13th of January, 2008)

I asked Cathat for permission to post his update email he sent me and he said it'd be ok, so for those interested, this is a nice update from the man himself.

Just begun at a startup here in the SF Bay Area Peninsula - we're still stealthmode - some free community 3d stuff we're making - think of vaguely it as a "Second Life Lite". I just really wanted to get into something dynamic and innovative, and of course having bosses who are like "you're great - do whatever you want" is awesome- lol.

It was some great times getting to hang out at UOF and Stratics for all those years. It's actually a really hard habit to put down. Interacting with people, the strong community, and striving to improve the UO world via that feedback was a really great experience for everyone. Folks clearly had as much fun and passion as I do.

So I'm still olde' Cathat and still doing my thing - just elsewhere for now. A shame its not an MMORPG I'm on 'cause I'd still love to be back in that specific environment. However, my new project being fully customizable and free - who knows what the future might bring. Various communities might find it useful as an addition to their own tools some day. I'd love to see and hear from what I'll always think of as the 'original community' in my mind. I know some folks out there bash on UO and its community - but I think its one of the best damn things going on - the community people are the heart and soul of that whole world after all. Online celebrities in their own right.

Well - don't be a stranger - I'll do my best to keep in touch and sneak in and out of the boards now and then. I'll have new masters and a new place to keep watch on, but I'll always be watching your skies and keeping an eye on things from afar.
