Need strategy in exodus dungeon
Hi,
Need to complete SW quest, been in the exodus dungeon, dead in no time. Any EV's dispelled immediately, Invisibility immediatley revealed, can't find a way to kill those minions.. Well, shamed to say I'm 4x110 mage and GM scribe (spell resist is 90 due to protection spell). |

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
I took a friend who was a swordsman. I didn't use ev's, I cast things like e-bolts, explode and the like while he did a bunch of the dirty work. Partied up, it worked great. Oh, and get rid of the protection, learn to time your casts. The slowdown in casting isn't worth it to me. JMO.

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
I have always been extremely effective soloing in Exodus (I've done that quest so many times it's insane). In fact, I find I die less solo, as it's rather hard to coordinate most groups around paragons and such.
Your targets will be one of the four ends, North, East, South or West. There are large rooms there that each spawn overseers and minions. I usually kill off any controllers in the way with EVs, as their spells hit kinda hard if you aren't wearing a good resist suit. Once I get to the room of my choice, I aim an EV in as far as I can towards the spawn, run around the corner and invis if anything is flagged on me, then go back and drop another. Yes, EVs will be dispelled quickly but NOT insta-dispelled, just replace them as they drop and keep the mana coming up. If a paragon is sighted, get the F outta dodge, precast an Invis, move away and hit the invis when you know the thing is outside your screen, immediately precast another and move away, you'll want to hit it again if it comes back in sight. Abandon that end and try another. Unless of course it's a Controller paragon, you can take him out with EVs easily. If you're truely determined you can kill paragon overseers with enough EVs, just don't run outta mana. If you die, it's not too harsh a walk to the Gargoyle City, Mistas. Just hang a left after the lava (head north that is) and the entrance is North West of the beginning of the desert area. |

when I help my guildies or anyone else, I bring my tamer/peacer
Peace those puppies and then cast ev's.

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
Yeah, I did it again for the third time in a week. This time on my bard/mage. Total piece of cake, even the para exodus minion. Was in and out in no time. As was mentioned, kill the controllers first. A simple flamestrike is usually enough, though you may need to follow up with a lightning strike. When they're out of the way, get your ev's up and sit and wait. You might consider casting protection. I find it a pain, but it can help if your spells are getting disrupted a lot.

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
Thanks all,
I finally managed the quest, but first I became a Knight of Sacrifice then went to the dungeon. I died twice and rezzed myself in a quite corner, I summoned EV's many times, using McLeod's tactics (as far away as possible), invisibility, and a final touch with flame strike. Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
I'm ashamed for such a noobish question, but what kind of quests are to be done in exodus? Someone got a link for me? I ventured into exodus a few times, but never found it worthwhile. maybe my first look was too cursory...

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
To become a spellweaver, you must complete a quest inside the dungeon. I don't recall how many exodus minions and overseers must be killed, but the exodus dungeon is where you find them. I am not aware of any other quests involving this dungeon, but wouldn't mind finding some...

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
*calps forehead* Right! Now I remember! It's been so long that I made my spellweaver I simply forgot. <b> I think I had help by a friendly archer, so it wasn't very hard then... But if anyone ever needs help on Drach for that, just gimme a call :-)

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
i just did the quest ., . . i went in with someone else doing the quest and we partied which was good because we shared the kills and got two quests done in one.
i am a mage with 100 skill and no combat - so what i did (knowing from uo.stratics that exodus minions and such cant really be hurt by summoned monsters and EVs) I did blade spirits and that killed them pretty quick. Because between my blade spriits and the other person - a warrior - the hits kept coming and they had no time to dispel them. <3333 |

Re: Need strategy in exodus dungeon
Blade spirits are better then EV's for this. I always did it on my mage and never thought of it as hard, unless one of those paragon controllers chases you, they can follow you fast, and they cast fast. To kill the minions you can also cast spells but sometimes they will return damage, not always. In exodus dungeon you can find golems who drop the music box tunes ;) Also learning your way around the dungeon is a plus, then you know the safe escape routes
