It's only an item frenzy lately because of the holidays. Every teen out there is getting extra holiday cash from parents/grandparents and want to spend it on UO (something they enjoy). By all means, I'm for it. I'd rather people spend money on UO than drugs, alcohol, etc.......
After the holidays it'll wind down some, but Gnomy, I wouldn't knock it. There are worse things people can spend money on....

Sure it is... Have in mind thought mmos are a addiction which hurt people in a way too ;) Not in same way as alchohol/drugs but... more and more are forced into rehab because they cant handle it... mostly kids.

But guess im just thinking a bit too far there...

Hehe, the way I see it, if someone is rich in real life, and views UO like a hobby, then they should be allowed to spend their money how they want. Of course, it would be completely different if you're not rich and still spending thousands of dollars on UO. If that's the case, you need to get your priorities in check.

I personally have not bought anything in game for cash, but using my gold to buy items like this is a different story. Do it all the time.
