CITIZEN BURNT IN STONEKEEP! CIVIL UNREST HEARD!

Mary O'Gara - remember the name. A defenseless and innocent citizen of the township of Yew was today murdered senselessly, calously and without all remorse in the name of the Yewish Avatari.

A pillar of both the celtic and Britannian Yewish communities, the middle-aged Mary provided herbs and spices to the local butchers and bakers and her produce was well appreciated by the Yewish masses. A practicing Avatarian, of the Covian sect, it was her very own faith that ended her. Halted in Stonekeep with no coin for her taxes, the brutish guards were quick to pounce. Pulling and scragging her by her clothes and hair they dragged the ageing lady before a disinterested Templi. Wishing the woman well from his sight, the bigoted, oppressive behemoth had her brandished a wytch for her possession for her professional herbs "illegally" gathered - and had her tied to a stake. Spat at, beaten and finally set aflame - the pious O'Gara spent her final breathe uttering the word of the lord, defiant in the face of hypocrisy as her clothes caught aflame.

Shocked onlookers slowly dispersed from the keep and soon the town was abuzz with the news. Pockets of the town's celtic populous dispersed to private meetings and rumblings of angst and conspiratory nature were heard ebbing across the Yewish night. As Stonekeep settled down for another quiet night, safe from the dangers of the repelled Yellowskins, Bandits and Orcs - a new threat grows this night in the cabins and farms of Lord D'Gar's less enchanted followers; dissent.

This reporter dares only to suggest that the rebellion may have finally come to Yewish citizens. He wishes you goodnight... and goodluck.

BLOOD ON THE STREETS! BATTLE OF YEWTOWN BEGINS!

The violent murmurings following last night's pyre today bubbled over as conflict erupted in the recently sleepy, northern town. Apparently organized citizens of Yew arrived in Stonekeep, the local garrison, earlier this evening and seized several members of the local militia! Shouting was heard from either side, with the riled mob demanding action over the death of Mary O'Gara, accused of wytchcraft the night before.

An exchange of religious views prompted an angry response from the armed men and one demanded judgement of the restrained First Marksman before she was shot and bludgeoned down by the crowd, mere yards from the very spot poor Mary had been restrained for her own execution.

As the garrison began to stir, the men of the revolt dragged away a female waywatcher towards the Yewish Avatarian Church. They seemed to be demanding she pray for forgiveness on behalf of her kin, but the scene was interrupted by the arrival of Baron Caden D'Gar, Lord of Deepwood. Conflict broke out when a rebel male fired his crossbow into the unit and soon a full scale skirmish rippled like a tide through the Yewish woodland.

Throughout the forest, the echoes of conflict dinned between the trees and Yew was disturbed for the first time in months. The steel and swords of the great, Yewish machine seemed to have disbursed the handful of rebels and the men of Lord D'Gar chased their adversaries off into the woodland.

But these rapparees brave were stout of heart and agile of mind, knowing their surroundings well - the Yewman has long been knowing of the ways of the bow, and the rogue archers picked off their militia chasers amongst the trees. As the battle broke out into the town center, it seemed the Lawmen of Yew had taken many casualties, a Corporal, a Seargent and others of their elite were thwarted by the incensed rioters. Eventually, even the Lord Baron himself was halted by the aggressors who left him face down in the mud.

As the Baron and his men hobbled back to their haven in Stonekeep, the men, women and even children of Yew must tonight be contemplating the events of today - and if five men can stand against the garrison and hold their own, what lays in store for the future of the town?

One thing is almost for certain, the battle for Yewtown is just beginning.

IT'S A TRAP!

Morning Edition.

As the day's violence slowly came to an end last night, a sense of ease almost rolled across the misty Yewish eve. Scuffles between the Guards and militant protesters ebbed out to nothing as the moon drew high in our pious, Northern town. If only the days evil had ended there.

As the Nightwatch stood idle considering the day's events, a track of coins seemed to be flicked from the bushes onto the Stonekeep road. Curious waywatchers spotted the trail leading to a neatly wrapped present, decorated with roses. The package and it's attached valentine a pleasant relief from the hostilities that had threatened to boil over through the day.

The curious footman to which it was addressed flushed with some embarrassment as he scanned the note attached. If his heart skipped a merry beat, it won't next time. Prying the lid from the crate the package detonated and a raucous, thundering boom ripped through the still Stonekeep air and the footman was propelled to the road in a mess of splinters of flame.

This reporter is joyously informed the young man survived the blast, though the extent of his injuries remains unknown. This reporter is left questioning whether anything is sacred, or indeed safe, in our fair town this morrow.

GUARDS ALERT! RIOT ACTION ESCALATES!

'Sophisticated' may not be the word, but rioters in Yewtown last night left the Guardsmen Militia questioning the 'technology' of their adversaries as new violence broke out into Stonekeep itself! As darkness began to fell, the Militia erected a palisade about the ancient Stonekeep meadow and wisely began to fortify themselves for the night. Disenchanted members of the serf populous were seen skittering through the undergrowth and from the treeline, flaming bottles of whiskey came raining down over the stockade walls, shattering and showering flame and liquor about the road.

Irritated more than alarmed, a gruff looking Lance Corporal raised his shield and stepped out of the palisade gates, the sheepish peasants bolting back through the trees to safety.

But the edgey militia, forced to keep their palisade maintained got a further shock as an "evolution" in rebel tactics was demonstrated some hours later. With cries of 'For Mary!' a bomber and his accomplice began pelting far more dangerous devices at the Guardsman at the palisade gate. Fleeing inward towards the keep, the rapparees pursued, releasing their effective arrows into the soldier's back. Eldric Samson, this reporter is assured, fell swiftly to the ground as the rebels bolted to the woodland.

As the guardsmen settled back to their post, the din broke out again - this time the crude bombs came flying from the shade at former sergeant Leo Madsen! The rebel tactics repeated, the heavily armed Veteran just survived the blast long enough to chase the dissenters North back towards Yewtown, though his injuries seemed to stall him - and the poor Veteran collapsed inexplicably* in pursuit.

The Guardsmen Militia must be left questioning what their foe will bring out next, as anger seems only to rise in the conflict between rebels and guards.

[*Haha. Unlucky Madsen! Special mention goes to OSI's very own NPC Guards. In further battles, refer to the handy guide Proper Conflag Usage.]

REBELS ATTEMPT FOOTHOLD! BUILDING SEIZED!!

An organised segment of Yewtown's rioters tonight set about cordoning off route-ways into the town from it's outlying garrison. The unit who are quickly establishing themselves as the 'core' of the recent rebelling movement built and occupied a palisade outside the healer's at our fair town's boarders. Arming themselves with crude, explosive projectiles and their familiar longbows the 'Free Yew' paramilitary rebels sat well into the night. Local healers found the young men helpful and considerate, and were even hand to patch up the damaged as the day wore on.

This reporter understands the unit vacated their post in the latter hours of the day and used their entrenchment to begin skirmish raids against the Stonekeep garrison itself! Infiltrating with stealth and cunning, the sounds of explosions ripped through the Yew skies for the second consecutive night.

Reports of a fallen waywatcher and divisional First qucikly spread to Yewtown where murmurings spread from door to door. It is understood the rebels too took a casualty as Baron D'Gar himself emerged from Stonekeep atop horseback to run the young man down in the woods!

The rebels still show no fear as the weekend draws in, this reporter only hopes the violence will cease for the Sabbath at least.

SIEGER SNATCH ON KING'S ROAD!

The 'Free Yew' extremists that have steadily begun to grow in our fair town last night achieved what Vesper's "Mauve Madman" has failed on successive occasions to achieve, as they proved that the roads of Yew are no longer safe. For anyone. None other than besieger-bigwig Sineal Walker was reportedly dragged off, kicking and screaming, by a duo of the partisan paramilitants. The besiegers may be renowned for their detonating devices, but the battlescared veteran was happily schooled in explosives by the enigmatic rebel 'Bomber' and bound and beaten in the confusion.

This reporter's informer dared not follow as he was dragged off Westward.

Later, the rebels continued their bombing campaign in Stonekeep as the Lord Protector's closest aide was caught with his mouthful as the duo returned to the King's Deer to pelt their bombs and arrows at the off-duty soldier. Having downed their victim, the pair scattered but it is understood the militia captured the 'Bomber' and hauled him in for interrogation. Little is known beyond this point, but it is understood the rebel eventually escaped when he was able to detonate a concealed device that temporarily blinded his would-be firing squad.

HARD WORKING MILITIA DO SERVICE TO CIVILIANS!

At Point Of Rebel Arrows

The emerging paramilitary power in our fair town tonight took a turn for the sentimental as raids started in Stonekeep again. Peppering the garrison palisade numerous times, the brave - if nothing else - rapparee force inflicted a number of minor casualties, though a pair of their own wounded in exchange.

The skirmishes raged off and on for near an hour before events took a turn for the more bizarre. A number of the partisans were spotted dragging a pair of wounded guardsmen off into the forest, and citizens feared the worst. Jan, however, a local bowyer reported alarmingly later that the "Free Yew" militants took the guardsmen to her place of work and even offered to patch them up.

"What happened next was a little perculiar" the Yewish citizen told this reporter "those young men didn't lay a hand on that poor militia girl, they were awfully polite" she proclaimed. "They gave her clean clothes and had her surrender her uniform. They then sent her outside and made the girl work for clear a whole day's work! She must have made near enough a thousand shafts, and that's not to mention those that that poor Footmen collected. I would have thanked her in person, but a besieger man came to collect her after a while. I stayed indoors!"

This reporter remains vexed by the intentions of our province's insurgents but we can be sure they are not your average rioters! The nature of their rebellion remains a little uncertain, though if such gestures and sentiments work for the common Yewfolk as they do for this reporter - todays events can only help but garner favour for the enigmatic rapparee band.

CITIZENS IN FEAR! OPPRESSION WORSENS!

Militia countermeasures against Yewish reactionaries escalated this afternoon as houses about the town were raided. As paranoid members of Yewtown's hardline, loyalist civilian-base began their wytchunt for Celtic persons - reports filtered in to the Guardsmen's stronghold of rebel activity to the west of town. A militia lynch-mob left their citadel on the trail for blood and were seen knocking on doors of non-Britannian households in search for rebel activity.

Rumours of violence and heavy-handed interrogations this evening spread through the homes and work places of our fair town and opinion was mixed throughout the populace as to the Guardsmen's nature. "Serves them buggers right", one elderly woman told this reporter "Britannia's for Britannians! Not them scum! We shouldn't even tolerate the bastards, or any who like them!" while one more level-headed citizen branded the Guardsmen's movements as "Brutish acts of ungodliness!"

While public opinion of the recent riots remains mixed, besieger Sineal Walker; believed to be at the forefront of this evening's busts; is unlikely to have made friends with a bruised and battered Hugh Mooney, local woodsman, who this evening sports cuts and scars received at the hands of militiamen. One thing is for certain, while the King's soldiers persist is provoking the dissenting portion of our community, we are unlikely to see an end to violence!

MILITIA "ELITE" TAKE CELTIC HAMMERING!

An ancient, celtic proverb rang true late last night as the our local paramilitants took up arms again; "In war, anger is as good as courage." Reports from Britain spread back to our township this morning of a cave-in in the Yew-Skara pass, the landslide bringing down arrows with rocks upon the convoy below. Rebels from Yew bombarding a Besieger-escorted caravan train picked off the hapless Guardsmen as their projectiles thundered through the thick shadow iron plating.

The looters are believed to have made off with more than two hundred stones worth of explosive material, though eye witness reports suggest the desperate besiegers were able to detonate some of the payload to keep it out of rebel hands.

Closer to home, attacks on Besiegers (believed to be retribution for yesterday's ill treatment of celtic households) continued in style as activists sprung from the woodland surrounding the Stonekeep meadow, loosing their arrows and bombs upon more of the elite, militia division. Several more, rumours including Walker himself, were left nursing wounds in the mud before the insurgents eventually left.

FRICTION RISES AS REBELS GET ORGANISED!

*

A growing social friction in Yew became alarmingly apparent a night past, as scenes of unrest plagued an otherwise bountiful market in our fair town center. Besiegers, there to 'protect' the merchants were spotted harassing local citizens of Yew's celtic quarter and the physical bullying of unarmed civilians was not the only wrong to leave the townspeople questioning each other and the Guard.

Corporal Walker, a growing bastion of celt-hate forbid a militia craftsman (of questionable ethnicity herself) to sell her wares to any of the celtic denizens of Yew. The veteran enforce later kept up his plentiful irony, forbidding local urchin Criofan Geraghty (this reporter wonders where Mr. Walker thinks that name came from) to purchase tartan wears from one of the market's stalls. Branding the woman 'evil' he sent the young boy along and went about his way. Discriminatory remarks were notably quipped from other ranking guardsmen, including former sergeant Leo Madsen who audibly branded the celtic quarter 'second-class citizens.'

**

Elsewhere, in response, men of the local paramilitary amassing against Lord D'Gar and the Inquisiton were seen on maneuvers through the woodland and backstreets of Yew. Practicing with numerous incendiary and explosive devices and sparring with each other for practice, it seems the local rebels are slowly becoming more organized.

Surely a concern for the local Militia, as Stonekeep was once more targeted by raiding parties from the North of their garrison. While previous raids had included subtlety, sneaking and the use of cover to take vantage over the Guardsman's superior forces - the angry, celtic mob charged screaming into the keep and leapt furiously at the first watchman. The following battle saw numerous casualties in Stonekeep before the rebels withdrew. A besieger war party was dispatched but is understood to have caught none of the dispersing rapparees.

FARMING FUN FOR GARDENING GUARDS!

Further reports of guardsmen at work reached this reporter this morning, amidst rumours of a missing patrol. Members of the Besieger and Waywatcher divisions were spotted traveling east to old Nihon where the patrol went AWOL in the latter hours of yestereve.

Civilians report seeing unfamiliar new faces clad in clan tartans, working on the southern fields of Yew, harvesting crops and ploughing through the earthen fields. One eye-witness identified one of the trio as rookie Annwyn Brown. A spokesman for the rebel group told this reporter "They were defeated after engaging us in battle, this is their forfeit" he continued "they capture us and they torture us, we are not so cruel. Crops from our fields, sheep from our pens are oft' taken to feed the mouths of a liege lord. These honest guardsmen have helped repay this debt. We are grateful."

The sentiment was, perhaps, not felt by the guardsmen themselves - however. The missing patrol reemerged some hours later and were spotted in the fields just outside of Yewtown.

The thuggish militiamen obviously were not too virtuous in accepting their lesson in Humility. If only they were as staunchly pious as their rapparee counterparts. Extracting a cowardly vengeance on a local farmer for little other reason then his celtic heritage, the disgraced trio battered the poor man infront of local urchin, and militia celtic mascot, Criofan Geraghty before dragging the poor man off to the citadel. His screams reportedly filled the Yew night air.

This reporter prays for the poor man's safety.
