Just FYI (and I've bug reported this years ago) crushing blow doesn't work.
It doesn't work with maces and it doesn't work with monsters. You take 0 damage with crushing blow.

yeah it does work. What it does is it adds 50DI. Only problem is that people usin the weapons that have it already have 100%DI so it adds nothing

Let me explain that a little better.

Lets say your combination of weapon/jewels/armor have a total of 100% DI(cap). Crushing blow(adds 50% di) Puts you at +150% DI(unfortunately the cap is still 100%) thus not really adding any damage at all. Drops your DI% to 50% and then use it and see if it works.

I never see a # when I do crushing and when monsters do crushing I dont get hit.

Another possible explanation was

Flutter, it seems to me that when my character gets hit with a crushing blow, it loses some stamina. I'll have to go check it out to confirm this though; just going from memory at the moment and my recollection could be wrong. If that's the case, it might explain why you don't see the monster give up hit points either, since it's losing stamina but not life. Might make an interesting FoF Q&A.

I tried on a guildie and he did loose HP (all of 28 laugh) vs the normal hit amount (18 double laugh) so I guess it's "working" (?) on PvP.

I'm pretty sure it does add some damage one way or another, as I started playing again a few months ago and used that special a lot with my dexer before I re-speced her.

I had an earth elem slayer war mace, with which I could OS mobs while performing crushing blows while it would take no less than 2 normal swings to kill them otherwise.

Also check it out for PvP too Jeremy. I BELIEVE(cant check im at work) that crushing blow adds 50% DI but if you are already capped(any self respecting dmg dexer is) it doesn't add any dmg making it a completely useless special(especially for that much mana) in PvP(or pve for that matter). Since the dmg is already affected by resists, even the hardest hitting weapon(warhammer maybe?) with max di, tact and anat will only hit for 70s in the status screen. After 70% taken from resistances, thats only about 21 dmg. Current crushing blow will keep that damage t 21 per swing because your DI is already capped. Crushing(which is usually on slow, hard hitting weapons) blow is meant to do SOME sort of extra damage. As it is now, its useless. Even 31 dmg is not overpowered. Maybe consider having it looked at to be changed into 50% overall DI(no incloded in the same DI cap for items)

Crushing Blow adds 50% to your Weapon Base Damage not DI.

Base Crushing Base Weapons

13-15 19-22 Sheperd's Crook, smith Hammer, sledge hammer
14-15 21- 22 Broadsword
14-16 21 - 24 Axe*, Maul
14-17 21 - 25 Scepter, diamond mace
15-17 22 - 25 Viking Sword
16-17 24 - 25 War mace
16-18 24 - 27 No Dachi
18-20 27 - 30 Ornate Axe*

Im not being a smart ass, but I cannot get into UO right now or i would go try it. Can you please go try that and confirm that for me? Jeremy knows.. just cause its in FoF doenst mean its right.. the self repair issue for instance.

Get 100% DI and compare crushing vs non crushing. I would definately like to see the difference.

I'm not arguing anything don't get so excited.
I am simply stating that when I get that message from a monster hitting me I don't take any damage.
This fact I refuse to debate.

Grabbed my Bone Crusher and smacked a lizardman or two with Crushing Blow. It seems to be working as normal, at least for me.

i was using crushing blow last night and it worked fine worse thing is mana ..also when you get hit with crushing blow your armor takes more of a beating as well as your stamina "go see lurg" so i see no problem with it but thats just me

Isn't crushing blow depending on the difference between mana and hp?! The larger the difference the larger the damage done!? If so, that could explain it - both are equal could mean, no extra damage from crushing blow...

That's concussion blow Merion. I get em mixed up alot too. I have seen three interpertations now of how this thing works
1- adds DI to BASE weapon damage
2- adds DI to your (100 cap) damage
3- adds DI to your (300 cap) damage

I can get a damage increase with it when I am below the 300 cap.

At risk of a slight hijack of the thread - surely, it must be a sign to anyone on the dev team that something is severely in need of rebalancing with the way the core combat calculations work when it's common for people to use, and need, a 300% boost on their damage output...
