It's down. My email was hacked, allowing access to my forum info on PAS forums and my ingame login/pw info. Since I was an admin on that forum, the person who hacked me temporarily had admin rights.

Having access to all private forums (including the admin forums and elder forums) isn't necessarily a good thing. A guy named "Hax" appeared in our ventrilo. He was banned.

Ghost (the person who pays the PAS forum costs yearly) has backups, but I'm not sure when the last one was saved, so we can fix the PAS forums, but there will be a revert. We'll lose some data.

Today has been a long day. Three people in PAS that I know of have been hacked, and a couple others in the past few days.

We have the IP address of the hacker, both from the forums and from when he logged in to Ventrilo (and they match). We plan to prosecute.

Adam, sorry for a guild update here, just wanting people to be more aware. If anyone posts any links to anywhere (like MyUO), when you click the link, make sure the address in the address bar actually says "http://www.myuo.com" or some variant. Not "http://someguysname/myuo". The three who were hit today (myself included) all were scammed by the same keylogger.

Not only is this sad news it is sickening ...

This is a good time to remind folks ... don't attach your UO game information (pw, acct name, email) to any online activity except the secure UO account management page and use a pop 3 email service for the email. (Most service providers give their customers one for free)

Thanks to the efforts of PAS members who were on guard at the time, when my hacked characters were logged in at my houses or in Luna, they were promptly killed. I guess it would be difficult to trade items over to a different account if you are dead.

And thanks to Brianna of PAS who physically called EA Support for me while I was dealing with in game GMs (on my 4th account that didn't get hacked), we regained control of the accounts fairly quickly. The hacker managed to get all my gear my characters were wearing and most of the items in the bank boxes, but all four keeps were untouched. None of the characters were deleted.

I consider myself lucky to have gotten off without losing a house or a single character. Thanks to everyone who helped, and everyone who offered help after the fact.

Sonoma is a great shard full of wonderful people, it's just a couple of bad eggs out there who try to ruin the fun for everyone.

Someone hacking accounts to take all their stuff is being greedy. Using that person's accesses to ruin a guild's forums is just plain malicious. I have my suspicions as to who it is in game, but I will not say any names and I don't want to see any "witch hunts". Just make sure you're very careful with any online transactions that require a login and password. Even if the passwords are different, hackers can overcome that.

In other words, just be careful. And once again to all PAS (and allied members) who helped me out last night, thanks. You guys truly do rock Sonoma!

well I did alert folks of the thread in game when I saw the post, it just strike me funny that a person with 2 posts posting a link to a "stratics" link of the doom of 2d and I also ran a security check on my pc right after that. Then Brianna of PAS also alerted me in icq of the problem and I went and changed all passwords just in case.

This morning went and checked accounts, all seem to be ok.

Quick update, PAS site is back up and running again, although we suffered a 6 month revert. If you have registered there in the last 6 months or if any of your accesses have changed in the last 6 months, or if you have changed your password in the last 6 months, please either PM me or post on the PAS forums and I'll get you taken care of as soon as possible.
