Mage/melee Hybrid
I was thinking along the lines of:
Magery 120 Eval. Intel. 120 Focus 100 Swordsmanship 120 Tactics 120 Parry120 With stats at: STR 90 DEX 70 INT 90 Will no anatomy hurt my melee a lot? I have focus and not med because I wanted to use non-mage armor, and try to get as much +MR as I can. Should points in DEX be shifted to STR or INT? Playstyle: slightly more emphasis on spell slinging, melee maybe 1/4 of the time. |

Re: Mage/melee Hybrid
I've done something similar (Fencing instead of Swords, Med instead of Focus), and it's pretty fun to run with, and enough Chiv (60, Tactics and Eval only GM, rest made up with items) to get a Divine Fury off if/when needed (for stamina).
The best armor for +MR normally ends up being mage armor (or leather) any ways so Focus isn't entirely needed (if you go with Chiv). I kept my Dex at the right level I needed that when Blessed I was at 85+ (in case cursed).

Re: Mage/melee Hybrid
Oooh, ok, I'll take out Focus and replace it with Med.
Why do one want 85 Dex? |

Re: Mage/melee Hybrid
Parry works with 80 Dex, I go a little higher in case I get cursed.

Edit: wasn't thinking correctly before, but if I dropped Magery, I'd also drop Eval and pick up either Parry or Anatomy depending on other factors.

But you need 80 dex to maximize your chance to parry.. I use 75 dex, cant say I can tell the difference at 80 :p And if you got chivalry, getting Cursed is not much of a worry tbh. Last edited by Jaden; 5th November 2007 at 03:44 AM. |
