Fun for money!

Does anyone out there think you can be a casual gamer (1 or 2 hours a day with occasional missed days and some longer days of playing) and make real cash while having fun playing! All items, currency, etc. obtained through legal means and all transactions done with courtesy and respect! In other words no scamming, duping, illegal practices whats so ever. My personal opinion is that there are games which allow sell/trades however no real money is obtained unless you are fortunate enough to get a high end item which usually comes from end game play rarely reached by the casual gamer. So in order to make money playing you must play full time as if its a job which takes most of the fun out of the game! Anyone else have any thoughts, insights or opinions on this?

Re: Fun for money!

well i consider myself a casual gamer about 21 to 25 hours a week which amounts to 3 hours a day like a part time job and i fair pretty well with the big boys because i institute a plan before i log on of what i want to do and i rarly spend as much time as i did in the begining bank sittign and b.s and gossiping i do all my talking as i hunt or do quest so figure on a regular week i bank about 400000 gold between some swoops, mirasmo and various other quests which is about a couple mil a month imight not be able to buy a crimson every month but i do have fun playing

Re: Fun for money!

Actually have given it alot of thought and your $200 a week mark seems right on. I have sorta explored the options on several different games and Ive reached about the same conclusion. This doesnt take into acct the brokers who can do it part time pay low/sell high. As I'm more interested from the players perspective!

Re: Fun for money!

some brokers have a lock on this idear but i do gather at this stage in uo might be hard to make a finnancial gain unlike wow who has a larger fan base probley would be much easier to make a little cash while you play

Re: Fun for money!

It's not impossible to make money via casual gaming, it just means that the flow is going to be considerably smaller than if you were power gaming. But honestly, if a person is "making money" off a game, it is my belief that they have lost sight of what the game is all about.

And we say of our folk, "they are here!"
That they built us and they died and you'll not be knowing why,
Save we stand on the bare plains of Wiltshire.

Re: Fun for money!

Aye I agree with you Deraj but at some point for alot of people it becomes tough to afford/justify the expense of online games when money is tight! what my thinking is can you still have the fun and experience of playing casually and at least make enough money to pay for your subscription if nothing else?
