Re: Best way to train Magic Resist..
Yes, and if you're human, you don't even have to buy any Magery.
I normally get a good LRC, MR, LMC suit and have at it while reading stuff on the net.

Re: Best way to train Magic Resist..
I guess I can share my lazyman secrets.I have a character named "Skill Mule" (his job should be obvious) and he usually has GM Med and Focus for training off skills to be Soul Stoned to others. He's trained up Ninjitsu (twice), Necromacy, Magery, Bushido, Poisoning, Magic Resist (three or four times), Peace, Discord, Inscription, Carpentry, Cartography, Lock Picking, and Archery. Probably a few others I've missed, but if you don't have a "Skill Mule" of your own, you're probably training a skill longer than I am ![]()

Re: Best way to train Magic Resist..
Well..I used the spellbinders to get to 107.8...but now Im at a wall. I had 14 on me earlier..and didnt get one gain...in 2 hours. Any ideas to get me to 115? Anything that doesnt involved other people casting on me..since none of my old friends play UO anymore. If theres anyone on great lakes that could help..Id surely appreciate it..

If you can, stone off a few skills to get your total skill level at or below 300. The lower your total skill under your cap, the faster you will gain. |

Re: Best way to train Magic Resist..
Yep, especially when you are over 100. I was trying to hit 120 parry, couldn't gain past 118 at all....two hours and no gain. Stoned everything off except parry and hit 120 in about 25 minutes. The reason is gain speed is tied to skill totals as well as the value of that individual skill. While you will always slow down in skill gains as a skill level gets higher, it gets even worse as your TOTAL skill level climbs toward 700+. Getting it below 300 total will help maximize gains.
