It is hard to split time between shards. After setting up 3 chars on Atlantic in addition to Great Lakes, my playing time is still spent about 90% of the time on GL. I simply wanted another shard for the change of scenery and the fact that when my guildies aren't on I can hunt solo on another shard (although I may get in a guild on Atlantic when the chars there are done and I see the Atlantic guilds in action).

I have a character on Siege, but I never play there. I enjoy going to Fel, and don't mind pvp'ing, but I don't want to do it constantly. On the positive side, it might be nice to not have to spend a kajillion gold pieces putting together a suit lol.

I have a few questions for those who chose "Get PK'd too much"

HAVE you played on Siege and been PK'd??

Have you played on Siege and been PK'd more or less than the usual on a production shard in Fel??? (if you haven't spent significant time in Fel on a production shard, please say so)

ARE you just assuming you'd be PK'd without even playing Siege?

I'm asking 'cause I split time between several shards and know that can be difficult, but I feel the whole PK thing is blown out of proportion.

I feel if you are social character on Siege you will get PKed less than on a production shard... One main thing about Siege is there is FAR less trash talking in PvP then any shard I've ever played before. One thing to keep in mind if playing Siege is there are a lot of friendly help nice player who are "red" where as there are plenty of backstabbing dry looting blues. It is unqiue...

The gains are to slow on UO for most people they don't have that kind of time to devote to gaining skills.

i havent played siege before but what i did notice in fel the reds and blues who kill p'k and hunt are just trying to have a great experience so i take it all in if i get pked so what if i hunt with a blue great but from what you all beenn saying siege sounds kinda fun i might give it a try when i have time

That's why I asked, I doubt half the people that voted for "Get PK'd too much" actually played on Siege and in Fel/Production Shard for any amount of time to actually come to some sort of opinion due to facts other than worrying about being PK'd just from stepping foot in a consensual PvP environment.

For all purposes, on Siege, it was the blues who were the worst offenders (using some type of bug/exploit to get you g-whacked and dry looting).

Yah... this is more of a post asking those that gave siege a try... why they wont play there.

The bottom line is, if dying bothers you, you're not ready for Siege.

You have the same chance to die in Tram on production shards and an even greater chance of dieing in Fel on production shards.

I'm not an advocate for Siege, but I've played on several different shards and the dieing is the same.

All you guys don't get it!!! Thats the point of seige is to make it harder on you! Thats what makes it fun! There is always that little fear of pks in the back of your mind. And if you could gain quickly, everyone would be a hauss overnight. It makes it more fun because it is challenging. You sit in your pansy trammel, with no fear, gaining gold......for what?? You go out hunting with your insurance........pffff........ Don't be scared! Venture out to seige, you'll find that you're not the only one thats skills are low, or the only one getting pked, infact, its most of the people there. Everyone is very helpful because it is a harder shard. So, come on, get off your insured butts and come play...... see you there.

Seems Stratics isn't the only place where Siege players like to claim their leetness compared to us "pansy" folk who play regular shards.
