I'm a new player , wanna try to play a mage tamer template , can someone suggest me if it can work?

I'de like to play with this template:

100 animal lore
100 tamming
69.9 magery
120 wrestling
120 resist
80 medit
120 eval int

using : nightmare and dragon
equip(items that i've got now):hat of the magi,arcane shield,ornament of the magician,1/3 def 15 ring,hp increase leather

stats:
105/55/90

suggestions on pvp tactics,equipment and stats would be very appreciated,because i'm still a newbie

I dont understand why you only want 69.9 magery?
I know the FC cap is 4 for chivalry if your magery 69.9 or below, but the cap for magery is - no matter what - 2 FC after my understanding, so.. ?

If you would have chiv in your template I would understand but.. ^^

at 69.9 you can have 4/6.

I would drop meditation. I guess you are using magery to heal you pets since you don't have vet. But I would rather use vet to heal and have magery as a backup. You can't rez pets with vet.

Although considered gimp (which translates to overly effective), you will want some dismount strategy. With the current skills, that means bola.

Why not a rune beetle? Even after the PvP "fix", it is still twice as good as a dragon.

Beetles do many things they lower def of things they hit cast spells and are hard tuff hitters... dragons just cast spells and fire breath.

this is 709.9 is you account old can it have 710 only or 720 skill?

few things get your magery up might pull down resist to 100 saving 20 points and if you get good suit you could drop med to 60 saving another 20 points putting this in magery put magery at around 110 then rest in resist hope you understand me

Chiv is not in him template so 4/6 is a waist (what above posts are saying).

Personally id drop mage/eval/wrestle pick up chiv with your 4/6. Bonded pets will be able to transport with you. Instead pick up archery/tactics so that you can dismount using a weapon (or keep wrestling with bolas). I would then pick up ninjitsu so you can run faster (animal form: allowing you to catch them in case you dont dismount them the first time).

I was toying with this template for a PVM archer/tamer. Only difference is on the pvm archer/tamer i would have vet so i could heal my pet...in PVP that isnt really a big deal.

And to clarify, it's the CHIVALRY the 4/6 to 2/6 Casting applies to when Magery (at 70 or above) is involved. This ONLY comes into effect when a character has BOTH Chivalry and Magery. It has no effect on Magery and it's casting speed (which is capped at 2/6).

DIP and Phix thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought that you didn't have to have chiv for the 4/6 when your magery is under 70.
