Metal and Runic Bonus

What type of metal and runic kit adds SSI, HCI, DI, etc..? I have looked but I can only find how it adds to the resist.

Re: Metal and Runic Bonus

Merc, I believe on the metal side of things, SSI/HCI/DCI are randomly assigned by the hammer you are using. The higher level the hammer is, the more likely you are to get those bonuses. I have only used up to a gold hammer, and the base metal used to craft didn't matter, there was still a random assignment of those properties. As you surmised, using different metals to craft ONLY affected the distribution of how damage was applied against resists.

With wood runic fletching kits, again, a heartwood is likely to craft better properties than a yew kit, BUT the chosen wood DOES make an impact. Ash for SSI, yew for HCI/DI etc. Hope this helps.

So if I want to make a weapon with my blacksmith what type of metal and runic kit to use that will yield the best results?

Re: Metal and Runic Bonus

Well the best runic hammer in the game would be a valorite one, and it will cost a LOT of gold. I think the best bang for the buck is either a gold or agapite hammer, you'll still make some nice stuff with them, but the chance to get something uber will be lower than a val or verite hammer. Unless you want damage spread across certain resistances (say you don't want to cast consecrate), you can do fine with standard iron ingots. If you want a specific trait, look on stratics to find which metal will do that and craft it out of that metal.

For the best results you will need a valorite runic hammer. The metal would depend on which elemental damage you want to do the most in.

Re: Metal and Runic Bonus

There is a little confusion here methinks.

ALL Runic kits (for weapons) have a chance of adding HCI, DCI, SSI, etc. Intensity is relative to type of kit.

For Runic Hammer bonus ranges, click here

ONLY Wood can add these properties when you enhance/craft with it.

They are separate actions though.
